Its almost becoming old hat these stories of crushing individualism and pre-school teachers knowing more about how to raise a child than the parents. Still, the video link below shows a pretty rocking kid in a cool mohawk running and jumping around the house.. so that part is fun.…
Not sure how this has slipped under our collective radars, but the Washington Capitals are doing a promotion called "Rock the Hawk" in their playoff games against the Flyers. There are special T-shirts by budweiser and a radio station giving away tickets to fans willing to shave a mohawk.
I am creating a group and photo album for this promotion, so if anyone knows of anyone who did this, definitely tell them about it and I'd love to see pictures and coverage of this event. So… Continue
Still seeing if I can find a picture of them all together but apparently 7 players from the Calgary Flames including the two team captains, shaved mohawks as they entered the playoffs. I don't watch a lot of hockey, but think I may have a team to follow this year.
Go Flames, Mohawks holding the Stanley Cup sounds good to me.
I haven't put my hair up since that last blog post. =(
I haven't had a haircut either. The sides have grown out to an inch and a half. I need to get a trim, and re-bleach the middle.
This mohawk is the thinnest one I've ever had, it's about 2 inches wide... It's also approaching being the longest I've ever had.
I'm not sure how this is going to affect the Knox process of putting it up, but when I finally get the sides trimmed, I'm going to attempt making more of a gel… Continue
Yeah, thats a jumble of a mess of topics, and not at all related to Mohawks, but I guess we all wear a lot of different hats.. err.. hairstyles. Just figured I'd toss that out there in case anyone was interested in those… Continue

I have moved the members box to the top of the main page, so that more of us could show up there.
Looks like the max I can get up there is 27 people. Just so everybody knows, the site puts people up there based upon activity on their profile. I believe when you log-in and when someone comments on your page, it cycles you up to the top again. Just didn't want anyone think I was playing favorites.
I've also moved the activity bar up to the left, so you can try to keep up… Continue

If you've got a mohawk and need to spike it, check out the method I use. It's hard to find information about this kind of thing, so after lots of trial and error I've started working on this HowTo. I'll be editing it as I find out ways to improve upon it. I also will try to get a video HowTo, as soon as I can find a camera.
KILLER SPIKES: Knox Gelatine and YOU
For huge spikes, Knox has got to be the way to go.
So, I originally thought that orientation was today, the 6th!
IT'S NOT! It's on the 9th! I know, that's not a whole lot of difference in time, but still!
So I went ahead and got a wig (It's awful--and for $12, I'm surprised I got that much!) to use for orientation, but I'm still holding out for a miracle. There's a much nicer one for $40, but my issue was originally time. Now that I know I have SOME time, I'll go ahead and order it--I'll have… Continue
Ah yes, yet another kid has been kicked out of the classroom for being "disruptive" by doing nothing more than having an individual spirit and a mohawk. At least this time he was 2 years older than the 4 year old they booted in another school.
He was warned several times that if he did not "conform" then he would not be "educated" with his classmates. When did the low self-esteem, individuals-are-bad mindset of a brainwashed robot "adult" come into a position to say who… Continue
I had one pulled out when i was younger and recently another one was giving me pain, it was sticking out and the gum must have gotten infected. So I got it pulled out today and shelled out $700 including xray without insurance. All 3 together would have been $2000. DAMN. I have the money but i think im going to wait a month to get the others takin out.
The whole side of my mouth is numb and i keep drooling on myself!!!!! bah this is lame. Atleast i have vikadin :) Milkshakes and… Continue

It's day 4 of having my hawk charged with Knox using the method I described in the forums.
On day two, I used hairspray on the base of the spikes to reinforce.
After that, no touch-ups.
From the pics, you can see what happened with using blue food coloring in the Knox mixture. It just made it look like I went swimming a lot. Next time, I will try half the water and double the food… Continue
The food coloring made the consistency of the Knox mixture a little too watery, and my bathroom got so messy from it. I think, if I use food coloring, I should use MORE of it, and not use as much water. Also, I used blue food coloring, and by the time the hawk was up, my bleached hair was more of a pukey light-greenish bleached-type hair. Not blue.
In short, adding food coloring to Knox gelatine is messy business, indeed. I'd almost rather never try it again.
Tonight I'm attempting to use my soon-to-be-perfected Knox routine, but I've added about 25 drops of food coloring to the mix. We'll see how this turns out.
I enjoy watching a lot of things on youtube and seeing what people might mix up, but this blend of both song and video for the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" and The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" is really something worth… Continue

I made a journey up to see my cousin Brian's beautiful Montana wedding this summer. While up there, I was talking to his brother Todd about my mohawk and the different techniques that I have tried. During this conversation he mentioned that while working up on a ranch last summer they used a product that was basically hairspray for cattle. This intrigued me, and he called up the next day with the… Continue
I have Jucifer booked on wednesday i'm getting kinda worried about this show. their set up is like, a huge wall of speakers lol. I have them booked at a dive bar i'm hoping the fuses don't blow in the middle of thier set.. eesh. they're a pretty big band on relapse records. then a couple days after this show are 3 touring bands on one bill. I'm hoping no fight goes down over splitting the door money.. then a week after THAT show I've got Far From Finished booked and they have a 400 dollar… Continue

Ah damnit...I knew it was coming...So, I got rehired at Six Flags: Great Adventure. That's great! I love working there, it's a lot of fun, and the pay's decent. The downside? Effin' "Appearance Guidelines" set by corporate. I'm usually like a lawyer when it comes to my hawk--I WILL find a loop-hole. But I checked and looked, and wow, there MUST have been someone before me that tried to get around it!
Thing is, even my supervisor, Aimee, wants me to keep it. So I asked if she could do… Continue
