Sorry this took so long. This is kind of my rushed version of why i'm a street rat at heart and and the beginnings of my punk origins and travels on the streets. Anywyas heres the watered down version.
Oh i am by far a punk. It wasn't something I chose to do one day. I just kind of evolved into it. The story(all true by the way), goes like this. My mom tried to kill me when i was living in cali with her. Basically we got in a huge fight and i was about to walk out when she started strangling me. At this point i decided to leave. it was a kind of thing where she sort of kicked me out, but i was going leave anyway. So for a bout a week i was on the streets by myself. Soon i met up with a group of people called T.O.S(The Outcast Society). They offered me a place to sleep, as long as i helped them out. All they wanted was someone to help get stuff, rip people off, beg, steal food etc. I didn't really steal from stores, to much trouble, and to big of a risk just to get something to eat. But everyone in this group was either a goth or a punk. Well truth be told there were only two goths i ever saw, most of them were indeed punks. So punk was constantly being played around the places we squatted. I just slowly started listening to it. Well the first member, her name was peppermint, well she and i hit it off fairly well. Became really great buds, so she actually as a present, and a way to show i was accepted, made a leather jacket by hand. To this day i always wear it, or at least have it with in a few feet of me. I altered it, to reflect my personality. Very symmetrical, and neutral. I sport some of my favorite bands patches on it as well. Just to show my love for the music. Well we knew a lot of local bands, so we always got in free. We saw a lot of shows. All of which we're under the punk umbrella(punk, ska, and psychobilly bands). After all of that, i just learned to love it. The people are why i got into it. The music came second to me. Now i'm living in colorado, and still love the streets. So i will occasionally just stay out for days at times. Street Rats, well we have a connection. We know what it is like, and we generally try to help each other out. Its the fact that we don't have to talk to know what the other has been through. Its a connection, that well is hard to break, and even harder to explain.
