About Me:
I really don't understand punk culture. For the longest time, I have been trying to figure it out but in the end, I keep running into these paradoxes. "Punks" try to define their culture by setting criterion on which to differentiate each other as "punks" or "poseurs". Yet most punks want you to be yourself and not to conform, This is where the paradox kicks in, did the universe just blink out of existance. No...but wait!!, I smell the rancid stench of hypocrisy.

Now don't get me wrong, we are all hypocrits in our own ways. No culture can be follow a perfect definition and refusal to accept this is arrogant. This is what bothers me about "hardcore" punks. They place themselves at the center of "punk" culture and proclaim they are the definition of "punk". Not everyone can live like a "hardcore" punk. I admit I could never be a squatter. "Hardcore" punks refusal to accept difference may help them define their culture, but it dooms them to a violation of the principals that they stood for in the first place, being individuals.

I live outside the "hardcore"'s definition of "punk" because even though I look like a punk. I have a mohawk, plaid pants, leather jacket, etc. I usually get called a "poseur" for several reasons.

First, I enjoy being an intellectual. Sorry assholes, I enjoy having a fucking brain. I can't help the fact that chemistry excites me...especially the chemistry of nitroglycerine. Holy shit what a fun experiment that was, it ended with a bang. Don't worry I kept all my body parts.

Second, I refuse to commit to a life of self-destruction. Yes I love alcohol, pot, etc., like some of my punk comrads, but I refuse to be pulled down by it. To create positive change within the world, especially with the god damn fascist government that run this country, you can't be blitz out your skull and puking on the floor everynight.

Lastly, the thing that fucking irritates me is government and even worse the greater ignorant populace under its reach. In the beginning, we create government and gave it power over us...its natural reaction was to gain more power...with this power, the government exploited its populace for its gain whether monetary or more power....the government stifled all attempts for the people to regulate its power or abolish it all together....the small amount of people who dissented were ostrasized, jailed, and silenced while the rest of populace watches...the government continues to exploit.
In the end, I don't blame the government for all these abuses. I blame the ignorant, fearful populace that doesn't stand up for themselves. The government needs to fear its people because that is the only way the government can be regulated. Failure for the masses to ensure this fear, dooms a small minority of dissenters. Case in point, government isn't the only problem, people are also the problem.
How Tall Are You With and Without the Mohawk:
5'10" without, 6'0" with!! We are at the beginning stages of this fucking project. GROW FUCKING HAIR GROW!!!!

Welcome to Mohawks Rock. Obviously, we do very little censorship here, but we would appreciate if you didnt use fucking in your profile name. Other than that rock on and meet people.

I'd suggest starting wide with the mohawk and then working your way inward.
  • SkunkMOFO

    ahahaa. well thankyou :)

  • Mohawk Joe

Nice to hear from you, my hawk is approaching 9 inches, and still growing. Can't wait to see pics when your hawk grows longer.
  • Bob

Another engineer. I've got a BSME and an MSME. Loved physics, but hated chemistry.
  • Bob

BTW, I'm really into model railroading. RPI has an impressive club layout....
  • Bob

Chemistry was too much memorization... and I had an 8:00 AM lecture and a Friday night lab, which probably didn't help.
I really do love physics. Even the subparticle stuff. I personally think there is a flaw in Einstein's theory. Every now and then I try to disprove it, but haven't been successful so far.
My day to day work involves a lot more project management than actual engineering. Oh well.
BTW, I have a stubborn streak as well, inherited from a long line of engineers and physists....
Building a couple of layout modules for the model railroad. Will post pics as work progresses. My layout does have complete computer control, with tiny microprocessors in each locomotive.
  • Chaser

Haha! Thanks awesome...ill definitely have to follow someone around the mall next time.
  • capitalistscum

thanks for invite. yea gotta shake the gov. up to realize how f*cked the world is. im lucky too cos December 16th there's gonna be an Anarchist bookfare in Los Angeles, can't wait to learn some new cool stuff haha
  • Chaser

Lmao! What a great mental image that produces. I can only imagine the reaction people have to that.
  • capitalistscum

for sure haha, they cant leave a bunch of Anarchists alone i wouldnt be suprised if the entire police force is there haha. i read your bio and its cool that you got an education in engineering, yet alone chemical engineering. i share your pain with getting hired for a job, they look at me and then they just yell "next!" and i get pissed. sure i may look and view things differently but im not stupid (or ignorant) like most people are, if only they would give us a chance and see who we really are; dam stereotypes
  • Sonic Architect

hey thanks for the contact friend and also the nice words. You seem to be a pretty sharp person with their head actually straight. We seem to share a lot of the same criticisms on punk, the punk culture and so on and so forth.

Nice to see that you have not been limited to getting wasted all the damn time and applied yourself and got some knowledge. If even I do not agree with the education system in our world (it is the separatists, exploitative institutional system I have the problem with, not actually learning things) I commend you on getting a degree, especially in a field that is capable of being applied in a non-exploitative way.

take care and stay well brother.
  • Friday Savage

i love your fucking hawk and your views on punk are pretty rad thats awesome that you like chemistry so u have degrees in chemestry and chemical engineering thats awesome lots of respect for you man seriously
  • Friday Savage

thats crazy man a PHD im impressed yeah man i did put a lot of time into that jacket i love the minor threat on the side of your jacket im a big minor threat fan, yeah im realy into art and stuff like that im going to school for welding and i want to get a degree in art history dumb i know but what ever where abouts are you from man
  • Friday Savage

    thanks man you to peace
  • Sonic Architect

once again I appreciate the very nice words.

I deeply respect your stance of refusing to explouit people with your knowledge. It is very noble and humbling and heartwarming to knwo there are people out there that could do so and refuse to. May it stay that way =)

People always tell me after I play shows...you could be huge and why don't you do this and that, why don't you sell cds and the patches you make? They do not understand that I do not care about money, that money is ultimately useless and un-needed except to divide people and I want every person to be able to hear what I do if they want or have a patch. Even with the lit table I am doing, our prices are not set. We offer them for what we buy them wholesale though rounded up to next dollar to avoid dealing with coins and shit...so we buy a book for 6.50 we put it on table for 7 and have a sign explaining if you cannot afford it but really want it, talk with us and we will work something out.

Most peopel are blown away by it and cannot understand it. Yeah it is fuckign tough. I cant pay my bills most of the time, my bank account is in the red, and I struggle constantly with various things, but I believe in what I do and when people respond positively to something I give them free be it on tables or food from dumpsters, or stuff they bought of the table, it makes it so much better. The genuine compliments and feedback are so much more to drive myself than simple shit like "your cool" or "good job"

But yeah...don't worry about talking about yourself, I do not mind at all. I think people need to not be so afraid to reveal themselves and am always glad to hear peoples experiences, beliefs, stories and thoughts.

So hit me up anytime. For some reason my page does not tell me when I get comments so if you want to be sure I respond quicker feel free to email me at reclaiming_lives@riseup.net I will get that much quicker and respond quicker.

    take care.

  • Erika Hysterica

  • Sammy Orlando Jones

    sup bro
  • Ska_Punk

Hey :) enjoyed reading your page I too ponder the hypocrisy of punk, usually until my head feels like it's going to explode.

    Hope you're ok

    Take care x
  • Katarina

Of course, that's a great educational accomplishment!

Mmmm, yessss cheeeeeeese! A glorious gift from the heavens above! Too bad it doesn't rain cheese, I wouldn't mind throwing back my head and catching drops of brie in my open mouth.
  • Adam, Mohawked LMT

Wow I totally feel you about the whole Hardcore punk idea. I mean stuff like that just helps solidify people's claim that "non-conformist are only conforming to non-conformity". I had this argument with this girl, and she gave this really shallow excuse pretty much quoting what I just wrote. But if people who try to be different end up dictating how to be different, is it any better then those who they are trying to differ from?
  • Giant Mohawk Man

ha ha, nice. talk to them, curb stomp their face. Both effective ways to altering the mind, even if on different terms and comfort levels.
  • S. Letell

hey whats up. I really enjoyed reading your page.
  • Scott

Interesting page man, unfortunately some people are just too happy giving up their sovereignty in exchange for protection provided by the government. What's even more unfortunate is how these people don't even realize that their government is doing more harm than good...I see you got a PhD by the way. Congratulations man, an intelligent punk is an awesome punk xD
  • Scott

True very true, but you see, Americans entered into that democracy under the impression that they did have the power to change the governments (in the Declaration of Independence). But like you said, people are too scared. Oh well its always a funny idea to toy with..xD and thatd be totally understandable if it was the drugs. Glad I got to have this chat man hope to have more... take it easy
  • Punk's Not Dead

    hey
  • Punk's Not Dead

    Okay.
    What about u?
  • Sammy Orlando Jones

    sup bro!
  • Alexis

Haha thanks. I understood a tiny tiny tiny bit. And I actually find that people that have "altered" or "unusual" appearances to be more intellectual than the "normal" stereotype. :]
  • Taylor

love ur bio what type of orange is that its pretty sweet
  • Khaos

Your intro is awesome! I get such crap sometimes about going to college (Ehh, fuck 'em). I'm just glad to see someone else is doing it too! Congrats on the Ph. D!
  • Sammy Orlando Jones

oh shit bro thats fuckin crazy man! I've never seen snow haha! I'm surounded by tumble weeds and a boring highway lol. But yeah snow whats it like besides killing? But yeah I've been good just been taking a break thats all. You?
  • Khaos

That is so true! haha I'm one of the older "kids" around. All of the adults I hang out with (generally at shows) wish they had gone to college or finished it and give me the same encouragement. Ironically, I wish some kids were more opened minded and motivated. Silly, silly punk kids. Life has a lot to offer!

Granted, school just isn't for some people, but it definitely does help you make a living, no matter what you choose to do, working for or against the country and all of that.
  • Sammy Orlando Jones

later bro haha just hang in there man and things will work out!
  • 0bscure

    Hello there! How are you?
