Mohawks Rock

Hey guys! I've noticed a lot of new faces lately. MR has grown considerably since November 2007, especially in the past year or so (we have celebrated 2000th member and beyond in the past year!).

So, I think it's about time we started an official newbie introduction to MohawksRock.com thread!

Feel free to come through here, say hey! Tell us something about yourself! Established members, too! You might be surprised at what you find out, even about someone you thought you knew really well. Maybe you live close to some members! Or have a unique ability that will set you apart from the rest. Don't be shy!

If you ever have questions, don't hesitate to ask. If you're feeling shy, you can use the search bar at the top right hand side of the browser, too.

Also, check out this thread. It explains the chat feature on this site. Real, live chatting with fellow mohawk enthusiasts! You can either access it from the chat tab up top or the bar that runs all the way across the bottom of the browser.

I'm Immortal.

I'm getting a hawk on sunday or so.

I like hard rock, metal, and classical music.I like to make video games - that is attempt to make them - only ever finished one game. I play drums and bass. My favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings and Fight Club. My favorite show is Game of Thrones. My favorite book is A Storm of Swords. Most of my time is spent browsing internet forums because I'm a lazy bum. That's enough for now.

Hit me up sometime if you wanna talk.

Name is Rob and I found this site through Pinterest.

I am of somewhat "mature" years and have never worn a hawk. Have had my hair in a "high and tight" with shaved sides and had been growing out my hair on the top. However one day I saw a dude at the store with a short narrow Mohawk and thought it was really cool. Didn't think I would have the balls to have a hair style like that. Got me to thinking however! The more I thought about it, the more I wanted one. As you get older you tend to care less about other people's opinions/expectations. I have always been a people pleaser and did what was expected of me. It is a time in my life that I want to do what I want! (Late onset midlife crisis?).

A few weeks ago changed jobs. My previous company had a no Mohawk policy. Even fauxhawks were seriously frowned upon. And I was also pushing it with the length of my beard. New company made no comment about beard or gauges in my ears (1") during interviews. Let's see what happens!

OK - so narrowed down the hair on top considerably to about 3". Now trying to work on growing out the hair at the back. Leaving hair on top fairly long until the rest of the hair catches up somewhat. No comments on me having the top narrowed down so far. So we will see how things progress. I may be pushing it with the new company - but what the hell.

AlexS was an inspiration. Initially he was pretty unsure about his initial cut. But now he is rocking an awesome hawk and seems very happy and confident about it.

Cheers to everyone - Rob.

Hi Tom.

Did you  get mohawked eventually ?

Hi, I am Thomas, a 61 year old guy from Amsterdam.

I am totally new in the scene. Already since a couple of years i had the deep wish to get mohawked once, but until recently i hadn't the guts to offer my head to the clippers of the barber. Also because i wondered if it would suit me, as i am not the youngest and my hair is alreeady a bit thin. And it wasn't quite easy to find a good barber, who is specialised in Mohawks. At least I did find one.

Of course I was rather nervous when i went there for my big transformation eaxctly a week ago, as unitil then i always had had a standard haircut, so the complete opposite of such a thing as a Mohawk - just compare both attached pics of my head before and after. Also the mohawking itself was quite an exciting experience, when one suddenly feels the air touching the skin of the shiny-bald shaven sides of your face....

And of course I am still a bit unsure when outside, then automatically showing my brandnew Mohawk to the public, as it is an eyecatching haircut that makes head turrn....

I am very interested in contact with other Mohawk-wearers
