I just got a incredibly stupid question last friday
"if you don't like people touching it, then why do you have it like that?"
answer "because I like it this way, its not my fault that people like touching my hair trust me if I found a gel just as strong as the one I use that doesn't feel like this I would use it but then again people would still touch it because they wouldn't realize that it feels completely normal"
"What, are you trying to be nonconformist? You know that everyone is like someone else and there is someone else in this world with a mohawk....etc" or "Girls should have long hair..."
No shit - my boyfriend (who does have a mohawk) is standing right next to me. I am trying to do what I LIKE. What makes me feel pretty and happy, asshole. Not trying to break your social norm to "shock" the masses, sorry.
"How long does it stay up?"
Until I say so ;-).
or Much longer than four hours and I don't even have to worry about calling the doctor! (reference to viagra)
"Want me to cut your hair?"
No thanks, I do my own.
"What does your boss think?"
Probably nothing too bad, since I got hired with it TWO YEARS ago.
Long Story:
What really pissed me off one day is I was almost on the border of New Hampshire one day to see the Restarts...and we were tagged and followed by some plain clothes cops. We were stopped, and the boys were being searched for drugs and weapons (after going to the bathroom and getting watched no less) and the other cop starts hollering to some other guys in a restaurant to "Come and Look at this" and starts touching my hair without permission and shit. Eventually he asked how I got it up, and unlike him I didn't have to take viagra to defy gravity. I was really annoyed at that point. We ended up forgetting about them for a while -
So, asking why we were there and walking around and harassing the kids at the show ensued. They harassed a bunch of other kids too. (Later that night I ended up walking around down to a bridge alone, and overhearing two or three cops asking what I was doing up there and what trouble I was trying to start..)
Was walking because they ended up arresting a friend of mine who was well out of sight AND off of the street who had vodka (legal age), and definitely weren't doing what they said they were. Didn't declare themselves as cops, called for back up and after she said "Why the fuck are you arresting me for?" and proceeded to yell at her and almost arrest someone who was concerned. Then they threw her into cuffs and roughly handled her and dragged her out to their car. (She ended up with nasty bruises and other things...she's a tiny girl).
The entire time they were trying to save the town from the big bad punks, they missed some residents dealing drugs on the street - in the open - a fight at a gas station, someone threatening another human being (loud enough to be heard two blocks down) and assault, vandalism, underage drinking (outside of the show - not the kids that were present at the venue) and then some. And this was all on the same damn street they were patrolling!
Here are some that I have gotten:
"What the Fuck happened to you?" A: "Don't be a dick."
"Are you having marital problems, do you hate your life?" A:"(Laughter)"
"What does your husband think about that? A: It turns him on which turns me on and I usually give him a blow job"
However, the snarkiest comments I've gotten are from some young punks who have had this to say:
"You are ruining the Mohawk for us."
"Aren't you like someones mom"
In which I usually say "So there are rules to having an ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT hair style? or I just tell them I'm to old to know what trendy is, I'm just being me.
