What is your opinion on Suicide Girls and other companies like them?

I have no problem with people doing porn or being models (even if that includes nude work). However I have heard terrible things about how Suicide Girls treats their girls and that I do have a problem with. I do not want to see any companies or photographers taking advantage of women just because they are willing to get naked in front of the public.

I agree with you about the companies, I haven't heard one good thing about the way Suicide Girls treats their employees and their contracts from what I understand are close to impossible to get out of. A lot of males are subjected to the same abuse in companies as well

Yeah I've never heard any thing good about how they treat their models either... heard they get ripped off a lot not only in payment but their images are sold elsewhere because they forgot to read the fine print in the contract.

I've never really understood how it could be considered punk rock either. Nothing punk rock about selling your image to a corporate company.

I mean if you want to be an alternative model and do nude photoshoots, by all means do it. Just remember who you're selling your images to. I think its much more lucrative to start your own website anyway.

Right, I think a lot of agencies are seen as a quick easy way to make money. In reality they are just selling themselves to a corporation and basically loose the control and rights over their own image.

Starting you own website or company seems like the best way to go, you know where you images are going you don't sign a contract and sell your soul to a corporation that cares about it's money not it's models.

I think if you want to model anywhere you really should take the time to research and make the effort to talk to people already in the business to save yourself from some bad situations.

Fuck it. Suicide Girls is shit. Don't support them in anyway. I see that only girls have responded to this post so I don't think that any of you will be supporting them anytime soon. However. If a guy happens to stumble upon this response I hope he take what I say seriously.
