I've only had mine since Saturday. My sister's all liked it and to my surprise, my mom didn't hate it. :-D My older relatives on the other hand did not approve, but honestly, they're the one who nag about anything so I'm not taking it hard. Only family that hasn't seen it yet is my dad and stepmother... which I'm guessing my dad will crack jokes but not care...my stepmother...I'm sure she'll disapprove and have some words for me. *shrugs*
I'm 21 and disabled, currently living with my mom and brother. I've had it for about 6 months now. My mom wasn't too happy about it, but there wasn't anything she could do to stop me. My brother hates it as he doesn't like people staring when we're out. I'm disabled... I've been stared at my whole life for one reason or another! Who cares?! My grandma understandably does not like it at all, AT ALL! I'm pretty sure my "closest" aunt and uncle hate it as well, but I don't care.
Went to a family member's viewing about a week ago now and had so many compliments on it from various family members.
Overall it's not been too bad. If my annoying father were alive, I'm absolutely positive he wouldn't let me be seen with him - quite like my brother doesn't want me to be either.
Mum didn't mind so much, dad i think has honestly not noticed, such a man, but my boss was furious. I thought i was going to get fired. I have to pin it flat to my head all the way back and take the nose ring out... ;_; annoying as he never used to have a problem with it.....
My parents just laughed the first time I had it up. My grandparents just say that it's a funny style and that I'll eventually grow it out. My think I'm joking when I say I'm keeping it. My fiance and his family love it. I've showed them how I wear it down and they like it.
I'm pretty sure everyone thinks I'm joking when I tell them I'm keeping it this way as well. And I know my Grandma is praying I grow it out... I'm only growing the 'hawk out, not the rest! Haha. We're so misunderstood.
Yeah I'm growing out the hawk too. My family and hometown don't like it, but everyone at my college and residence building love it. If only people understood.
That is wrong of them to do that. I still live with my parents and when i got it done, i did not tell them. i didnt tell them i was going to, didnt tell them i did. i just came home with my mohawk up. they were very shocked and upset at first but got used to and figured hair is hair and can grow back (except i keep it shaved LOL) and thought it to be pretty cool. My mom, NOW she is starting to hate it. she gives me crap about it all the time. i just shrug it off, if someone wont accept me its their loss
