Mohawks Rock

Ok so what makes everyone here "geeky" or "nerdy"? As in what are your interests?

I am way into StarWars (I have a Boba Fett Tattoo), Comics (want a superhero tattoo), collectables, the occult and Gaming( both video and table top).

So what about everyone else?

SHUT UP!! I loved beast machines!! my favorite episode was when Optimus and Megatron have a debate about life and nature over technology.
So there are other fans!
i loved beast wars and star trek.
i'm not a die hard fan either, but i do love to watch.
Comic books, video games, computer games, Star Wars, but come on, who ISN'T into Star Wars? I've got a Spider-man shirt and a Hulk shirt and wear them all the damn time
I am still into old school games. I have a N64 and I play Super Smash Bros almost everyday. I have Pokemon Blue for Gameboy :P and I read pretty much all the comic books I can get my hands on. The good ones anyway. I have read Hellboy, Civil war, Ms Marvel and a bunch other that I forgot the name too. I had an OLD game system that had pacman, asteroids, space invaders and a whole bunch of the old school games on it but it broke :(.
Seems that I'm the only tech guy out of my circle of friends.... was out of it for a while but now back at it again.

Started with my first game system, the classic Intellivision II and later III with the Intellivoice attachment (the whole thing was about four feet long) effing awesome. Moved on to the first nintendo... and that was the last system I had for at least a decade.

Then it was a computer (a 386 @ 33Mhz with 4MB of ram and a then unheard of 130MB hard drive). I remember reading the MS-DOS manual to figure it all out... pretty dense reading for a kid in single digits... still don't understand edlin. lol

Speaking of which, I saw a guy at the mall years ago with a shirt that read 'Windows 95. Brought to you by the people that brought you EDLIN'... almost pissed myself when I saw that. :)

Geeked out with dnd as well... got the first three box sets as my various birthdays/christmas gifts... anyone remember those... there was a red, blue and green box... didn't have the fourth set so I don't know what that colour was. Played a few other games as well.... GammaWorld... some Marvel and DC games as well. A couple of years ago I got back into dnd 3 d20 stuff.... loved all the artwork in the manuals... spent way too much money at the time too.... then 4 came out and I saw it as more of a cash grab and gave up.

Only comics I have are some old Web of Spiderman and some Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Lenore.... some other random spooky stuff that I found around as well.

I used to read a boat load.. authors like William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Alastair Reynolds, George R. R. Martin (If only he would put out the next book in A Song of Ice and Fire), Phillip K. Dick, Iain M. Banks, Neil Gaiman, Joe Abercrombie, Terry Pratchett, H. P. Lovecraft, Brain Lumley,... many others... I'd recommend anything by the first three if you like Sci-Fi and the last five if you like Fantasy/Horror.

Now back to computers.... currently have three at home.... a little netbook... and I'm building another to go in my car for music and navigation and bluetooth/WiFi/OBDII if I can get everything worked out. I only ended up putting computers in my cars when I couldn't afford to build one that I could wear.... still haven't given up on that yet. Check out Professor Steven Mann (currently teaching at the University of Toronto) if you find that you're interested in that.

I can't think of anything else at the moment... umm played WoW for a bit a couple of years ago to keep me occupied during the 'slow season' in the logistics industry here in southern Ontario... it worked too, but I always hit a wall when I got to level 35ish.... seems I was as friendless online as I was IRL. LOL

I went to a RenFest here a year or two ago... liked it quite a bit, but turns out the land owner sold to some developers and they're going to build yet another subdivision. BOO! I don't know of any others around here sadly.

That's enough for now... gotta find me a cheap touch screen for the car... sadly it never ends. :)
Hmm, let's start with my horrible eyesight( about 600/700), yeah I know you don't have to wear glasses to be a nerd, but having terrible eyesight from second grade kinda gets you on that path. Besides that I'm a voracious reader. I love sci-fi, fantasy, horror, mystery (some romance to my shame! haha). Some of my favorite authors are Raymond Feist, Anne McCaffery, Liam Hearn, Orson Scott Card, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, Jacqueline Carey, I could ramble on and on here...

I play WoW with my boys, we gather our laptops (sometimes desktops on the dining room table) at my house descend into nerdom :P I like playing console games, but I kinda suck, so I usually watch, I like the stories especially Metal Gear. Wii Fit is quite hilarious though. I've made my guy friends do yoga and hula hoop, good times!

My dog's are Yoshi and Jango Fett. Love me some Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, History Channel (has anyone seen it late night when it's risque SO FUNNY!) SyFy, Ghost Hunters, Myth Buster.

Don't know if it counts, but my mind is pretty much always in the gutter. Don't know many nerds that aren't horny, haha. I mean watch Revenge of the Nerds and you will find that they are the ultimate lovers because it's all they think about :D

Hmm, we are currently designing our Risk own game based off of warcraft it will be EPIC!

Yup I'm nerdy.

Orson Scott Card = Awesome!

I play DDO.

I've played Pokemon for the last 12 years running.

All of my friends and i picked countries to be and use history to settle arguments.

(I am the terrifying country of Switzerland)

I read dictionary's/encyclopedias/textbooks... for fun.

As for my obsessions, video games (N64 and PC) and comic books.

HUGE Spawn/G.I. Joe (COBRA!!!!) fanatic in regards to comic books. Also love Turok, Heavy Metal, Cobalt 60...

As for video games it is all about Mace: The Dark Age, XCOM, Doom, Fallout (1,2, & NV), Team Fortress 2, Metal Slug, Cthulhu Saves The World, Duke Nukem, Half-life....and many others along those lines.
