Mohawks Rock

I tried to use Knox to put my mohawk earlier today and I used the guide on here as an example.

Well, I messed up in the beginning and used a full mug of water and 1.5 packets of Knox instead of using half a mug of water. That really didn't work out, and after about a combined hour of waiting for it to cool down and attempting to use it, it failed.

It did make my hair a lil sticky, so I retried using a 1/2 mug of water and 1 packet of Knox. It sorta worked until I got to the back part of my head, where I couldn't see as well. I would get the base and half of the spike and blast it with my hair dryer, but then it would just flop over like nothing. Just when that started to happen, the front part of my hair started to slump. After another hour, I just couldn't stand it anymore and decided to wash it out. When I did, it washed out really easily, even though I was told that when it dries, it's super hard and a bitch to wash out.

I obviously did something wrong, so I ask for some help on how to use this shit. I know that Knox is pretty popular and great for keeping yer mohawk up, but I need some input on how to use it.

I've tried Aqua Net and Pantene hairspray and they end up flopping within a few hours. I've heard of got2b as being really good, along with egg whites, glue, and all that shit.

Haley gave me a walk-through on how to use knox in hair (I cant find the exact comment, but I'll paraphrase)

  1. Put knox (all packets) in small bowl
  2. Add enough water to just cover the knox
  3. Microwave it until its warm
  4. Put it in hair like you would glue or gel
  5. Blow dry it in cool air, with either a hair dryer with a "cold" setting or stand under an A/C vent (the stuff hardens with cool air, not hot)

How I did my hawk with spray:

1] Using a comb to hold hair up, spray Rave (theres a spray called Rave, just to make sure something doesn't get lost in translation here) on one side (lets say the right).
2] Move onto next section with comb, spray on same side as in [1] (the right)
make sure to put the sections where the hair wants to be, not where you want it to be. By this point there should be a gap about 3 inches wide between sections [1] and [2]
3] Since you sprayed the Rave on the same side in the first 2 steps, graze your hair with the comb and the non sprayed side (don't stab it through, that'll just make lots of little gaps) into the gap from both sides, and spray (on the left, this time).
Repeat down head.
4] When you get your hair how you like it, (still use a comb to hold your hair in place so the dryer doesnt blow it around) go over it with got2b freeze spray.
The reason this works is because Rave is more watered-down then got2b, so when you spray it, it's only good enough to coat one side, leaving the other soft enough for a comb. It also adds thickness (why, I can't explain) so the hair at the top of your hawk isn't transparent.

Thanks man. I'll give that a try soon.
