My son's mohawk is about 3 inches. Glue is our styling product of choice, but we have a problem with it working once the hawk gets longer. Plus, he's a 10 year old boy that runs around and sweats. Then, he needs to perform (because he's a rock star too:) Any suggestions? I need something that we can use when we are out and about, because sometimes he doesn't spike it until right before he goes on stage.
Sometimes, the hawk falls down and looks ratty. See this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyyK6hc2VQk

When you said "he's a rock star" I assumed he was going to be playing a guitar made of rubber-bands and a tissue box, I didnt think he'd actually be playing for real!
Try using hair products instead of glue, like hairspray. It falls down because glue is heavier than it is strong, hairspray is light and strong
A pretty widely used spray for mohawks is called "got2b freeze spray," back when I had a 'hawk I'd use that and leave it up for weeks.
You'll have to use a hairdryer to make it stiffen, I'm not sure if it could burn/hurt his head, if he has any complaints try getting a hairdryer with a "cool air" setting
The best thing I found is "got2b ultra glued invincible styling gel". It's pretty cheap, doesn't flake, and you can find it all over the place. If you really need extra hold put "got2b glued blasting freeze spray" over the gel after it dries. It's also good for quick touch ups on unruly or flopping mohawks. Look for a bright yellow with grey or black label in the hair product section.
