Mohawks Rock

I don't know why people get upset at the idea for using a sewing machine, but I enjoy using one when I can. Sewing crap on pants or a sleeve or fixing holes is by hand, but when it's altering shirts or pants to fit or back patches, I use my sewing machine. Maybe it's just preference some don't have, or maybe I'm just clued out that lots of others do use one.... Or there's a secret unwritten rule that declares punk sewing is always done by hand with friggin dental floss. The fact I'm keeping to the DIY system of making my own clothes and staying away from store bought crap made in China; Value Village loving and second hand repairing, isn't that what the root of the idea comes from?Sewing Machines are great for quick fixes, can be as durable as floss if you do it right, no limit to new ideas and it's great fun!

Sorry, a severe rant. Screw all you snobs who think that just because you sew 'everything' by hand gives you any better right and personal. Thank you, have a good night.

I love my sewing machine :) I got it for 60 bucks which is kinda a lot, but I figured that I'd save money by making my own clothes and that it would pay itself over time. I pretty much use my machine for everything...even sewing patches onto pants and shit like that. It turns a week long project into a day long project.
60 bucks!?? Mine was like, $160! And that's cheap. I have friends who collect sewing machines, and if bought new they'd be around 500 or more

I got my singer on sale for $60. Fuck yeah for bargain shopping!

Dude my mother had a sewing machine she never learned to use so now its mine. Wtf is wrong with that ya know? You know whats badass though? I was garbage picking one day, i found a handheld mini sewing machine. Best thing i ever found
