Jury Duty???

OK so here's the deal, I was just summoned for jury duty and I really really don't want to go. They have denied my excuse to be dismissed.

So I wanted to know if anyone has done jury duty, what should I expect, and if I have to dress up?

I do not own anything "nice", will they dismissed me if they feel my attire is inappropriate?

From what I've been told they are so sick of people trying to get out of jury duty that they don't give a fuck what you wear or say anymore. My mom said jeans and a t shirt are fine. I don't know how they feel about wearing your hawk up but if you want to go for it, worst they can do is tell you to leave. But if you go you might as well stick around, at least you'll get paid. I've been excused twice for no transportation because there are no buses/taxis where I live. Had to fight for it last time though and in was told I won't be able to use it as an excuse next time. Idiots.

I'm really not sure how the paying thing works. I'm sure you only get paid if your case doesn't et dropped, which apparently happens a lot. *shrugs*

ah dude i just got summoned for jury duty too. i am so bummed about it. i really don't want to go either. i actually have orientation tomorrow at 3:30.

well orientation was alright. i just sat there for about an hour and a half waiting for people to stop coming in. then the judge talked for a few minutes, then some other lady talked for maybe ten minutes, then they let us go. while we were waiting i just sat there and drew intill they took our pencils, then i just talked to some chick that was sitting next to me. i didn't wear my hawk up but i had the sides fresh buzzed and i wore my hair in a braid straight down the middle of my head, so theres no way in hell they could of missed the fact that i have a mohawk and no one said a thing. but over all it was ok.

i was near the front so i couldn't watch people. and they told us we couldn't bring reading materials into court. so there goes my entertainment.

I got summoned a while back. It was a pain in the butt. I got lucky because i was never called in. But i couldnt plan anything ahead for two weeks because there was a chance i would get called in. If i was you i would put up my hawk. The worst they can do is make you stay.
