You know a cool breeze is nice every once in awhile but not when it knocks your head over and you have to either find a wall to hide behind or hold your hair as your walking outside looking like an ass.

Yep, I've been through this many times in the 4.5 years I've had my hawk. Best to avoid wide open spaces, such as parking lots, city streets, or open fields where wind can run wild and free from obstructions against the time-and-effortful creation you adorn on your head.
