How do you find the bands you like?

I was just wondering, because I find my music by going on youtube and just clicking on a bunch of random bands. Or I go to google to look at band lists in certain genre's. Anyone else do this? If not how do you find music?

I take suggestions by friends and people i know and also i just kinda yeah do the youtube thing. Another way is i just download bands that are said to be "like" bands i do like and if i dont like them i just delete it.

I tend to just get stuff recommended to me a lot. I go to a fair few festivals too and see stuff at them and think they're cool. I think its kinda just about being open minded and giving something a try if it gets recommended.

i found most of the music i like through intternet like when i didnt really know artist id type in shit like screaming music,rap,techno,punkrock, or whatever and find out shit like on youtube... My ex boyfriend put me on to a feww of the bands i favorite today

I do about the same with YouTube - search for a genre (or write a few words describing the music), go through similar songs and bands until I find one that sounds cool. Then I usually visit the band's MySpace page if they have one, click on a few of their 'friend' bands and so on.

I used to have this problem its real easy to find out if you know at least one of the bands song title,then just google it thats how I find most stuff

If it's all the same to you, I think I may do the same. Last.fm says our musical taste is compatible on a medium level, but I call shenanigans. I could listen to most the bands on you playlist over and over and over.
