Are Mohawks the new fad??

I ask because I live in Southern California where fashion is everywhere. I know Mohawks have been around for a 100 years plus. Recently I have noticed more mohawks out there. Not like the nice long hawks they are more like 1" or 2" hawks not like that size is bad ok. I have seen 5 guys all in there teens and early 20s in the past 3 days with them. These guys dont look like they are a part of any group (Lifestyle). Is there something Im missing here? but then.. I have seen little to no T.V or Cable in like a year. funny I dont miss it ...anyways are mohawks the new fad going around? I dont want to be looked at as part of a fad or sould I wait out the "Fad Storm" to pass and keep Rocking my Hawk ,,or am I TRIPPING BALLS here"o_0"

yea they seem to be more and more about in my neck of the woods, always short ones it seems, lots of jockO's wearing them frat boys seem to get a kick out of them to.

Where i live ive seen one other person in the area with a mohawk in Washington. Up here you mainly see those scene hairstyles. At my school i am the only one with a mohawk and one of the first females too. Fauxhawks however... there are too many of them.
