Mohawks Rock

Just going on a bit of a rant here....

My mohawk is about 13 inches now, and i put it up for st. paddy's day yesterday. Walked into the bar and for literally at LEAST half an hour, i couldn't even have a single beer because of the huge amount of people coming up to me and wanting pictures and asking me the same questions over and over agin.

I appreciate the curiosity and comments and such, but holy crap....... my friend laughed and told me that i was like a celebrity. I even had some ex UFC fighter guy hitting on me like ALL night because he thought my hair was so awesome.

Now, that might sound awesome to some people. But i can be pretty shy, and i don't want so much attention. I dont have my hair like this to get attention from other people. i do it because i like it. it's for no one else but me. But i rarely ever put it up anymore because people just wont leave me alone about it.

My hair is finally at a length now that i can part it down the middle and have "normal girl hair" which my family appreciates a lot (like if i go to some fancy family function thing with them... they're embarassed to be around me with a mohawk)...... But i totally don't feel like myself when i put my hair like that. i feel just like everyone else. sooo i avoid doing that.

And now i'm considering cutting my hawk a bit just so people don't bother me as much. But i don't want tooooo >__< lol.

yeah, really dont know what the point of this post was... i guess does anyone else feel like this??

it is a little annoying, but it kinda comes with the hawk.
I don't mind the attention when I put mine up but it usually only goes up when we go to the club. It gets the girls over and is a nice icebreaker. Never had a problem fining a girl to dance with when my hairs up. The only part the gets annoying is when too many people want to touch it and when they don't believe me when I tell them what I use to put it up.
It is pretty annoying. Attention always comes with the mohawk and regardless of what you do, there will ALWAYS be people curious about it. Yeah i have considered growing normal hair but my mohawk suits me and i just never brought myself to do it.
Well if your gonna wear your hair out of the norm or the so called norm, you really shouldn't complain. I mean you do it to "stick out" nad be yourself then people are intrested in who you are, take it as a compliment. Also my family does that to me too, ill go it if it's like at a extened family dinner but other than that i'll have it open. I just keep it down out of respect for my family, we're there to have a nice dinner and you cant really do that when people are alwaswy bussing round ya.
I know exactly what you mean when you say you don't want so much attention. I've been lucky to get no negative comments (minus the ones my ex use to like to tell me all the time) about it but it seems like everyone knows me. I don't mind when people are staring at me for my hair it just bugs me when people are staring for no real reason. Like when I'm wearing a hat or something and you cant see the color. Lol but isn't it a rush being sort of a 'celebrity?' People come up to me and tell me 'Hey your the girl with the hair!' and it's like no one else has a mohawk in this city. I know there is at least one other Londoner with a long hawk (thank you mohawks rock search!) and I've seen guys with shorter hawks but mine is by far not the longest, yet it's apparently very memorable. I think it's from the zombie walks. Either way, enjoy it! wear your hawk with pride and expect a few (or alot) of awkward comments. and watch out for the people who like to 'pet you' ._.
don't really have any problems with it lol. most people are used to see me with the hawk up but sometimes when i go to my family ( grandparents) they're shocked lol. my dad n step mom always ask me why i don't have it up ( if i don't). my mom is just chill bout it.
only had people say nice things about the hawk mostly old people^^ YAY.
Old people are the best lmao
LOL i walked past this old guy once and he started mumbling about the devil's work......
I have to agree about the old people, I have been taking public transport more and more (due to uni). I was amazed about the number of seniors striking up conversations with me because of my hair.
My dad seems to think that everyone's going to be hatin' on me or something when really I haven't had one negative comment. Just a lot of people asking if I use eggs to keep it up and what I do to color it lmao
lol devils work aye XD

when i was still goin to scholl lol we went to a church n the funny thing is is that i got kicked out cuzz of the hawk.
i just laughed n went to the store n got me some beer ^^
ooo Don't cut it. It is apart of your expression. Just tell everyone to fuck the hell off
