Discrimination due to body mods and hairstyles

Anybody got any stories of bullshit being done to them for their appearance? I was reading the article about the kid being kicked out of school due to his mohawk. This is something that's been happening to me since as long as I can remember. I have never had a mohawk (though I want one), However I have had so many different hair colors and crazy hair styles it's not even funny as well having had tattoos and piercings all of my adult life. I've been kicked out of schools and taunted for years over this, however I have I story that will make you SICK.
I've only been in trouble with the law once, and to make a long story short it was a mutual combat situation between myself and another female. I walked away with a shattered hand and thirteen stitches in my head where she used a weapon (I was unarmed). While I was in the hospital room being stitched up and getting my hand put in a cast I heard a police officer in the hallway declaring MY total guilt at the situation and saying something to the effect of "this one has a face full of holes and purple hair.. always THAT type that causes issues.".
People, this was my FIRST offense, and a misdemeanor AT THAT. I spent time in jail and am serving a three year probation period for this... The OTHER lady in the fight was a middle aged nurse..she got no charges and actually got MONEY for the damage that I did to her car.. while I have a permanent scar on my criminal record.. Why? Cause' I'm "different"

Well, as I said, it was mutual.. however I did not throw the first punch. It was a situation where she had caused an accident and when I confronted her about it she got in my face.. I asked what she thought she was going to do.. then woke up drenched in blood in my car.

happens to me all the time, for my skin color, what i wear, and how i wear my hair. I learn to live with it and make sure I do the right thing. And always keep proof.

Anytime you want to/or have to look different life is going to be harder. I've had harder times getting job, been fired, passed up for promotions, hassled by the cops, excommunicated by my parents, and mostly because of the way i look. I just have to try 100 times harder. IT SUCKS, but it just is. The only way to change peoples minds is to change the stereotype.

well bottom line...and this applies to all sub/counter culture life-stylers....we look the way we do because we want to be different...stand out...separate ourselves from the mainstream...well we did....and we really don't have the right to comment on being treated differently because we want to look different...to quote "Men In Black" "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals" and Agent K was right....while in a one on one situation we're accepted as humans...but let one of us enter a fancy restaurant...or try to get into a swanky club....we're looked at as animals....and i know...there will be someone that says they wouldn't be caught dead in said club or restaurant...but hey...sometimes i'd like to have the blue cheese stuffed fillet wrapped in bacon...sue me...
