squatting is illegal everywhere(?) as far as i know, except holland. but even there they have laws, you cant just squat anywhere.
i think thats why its concidered civil disobedience.
It's legal in the UK, providing you don't force entry (so if the place has no doors, or something). You have to live there for like 7 years though before you legally own it (and you have to prove that, somehow).
i know that in the UK, atleast, squatters right is voided if there is any sign of breaking and entering. you've to be able to have front door access and a way of securing the property
yeah, I thought so, mentioned not forcing entry earlier. Not sure what else there is though, as if i left my front door open and someone strolled into my house, I'd probably consider that trespassing.
always, always check for local squatters rights. in any case, if it's already an established squat, and members of the community know that, then i don't see any problem coming up so long as you improve it, or just don't make it worse
