Mohawks Rock

This might sound like one of the stupid questions you'd hear from some kid on the street, but how do you have taller mohawks up when you have a rather short car?
My boyfriend has a short car, and it's usually fine, but I swear my hair grows an inch a week! Anymore, I have to tilt the seat back into a 1/3 laying position if I have my mohawk up. I don't want to trim it, I'd like to get it a bit taller (hell, I'm only at 4 1/2 inches), but it makes the top 1/4 inch of the mohawk fan and fray out. How do people with taller mohawks deal with this? Is there some trick I'm not getting, or do you just deal with it?

iv got the same problem actually.
i either:
a)have to bend forward and look down to the ground and hurt my back.
b)suck it up and get half my hawk bent (6 hours=hawk looking like a sideways half pipe)

i would also like tips on helping this haha.
I have about 7" on top of being 5'8" in a compact car, so I know the feeling (plus it isn't automatic, which makes it a bitch to shift). I generally just slouch, but it also depends on the product. Some products hold, but allow bend. Unfortunately, they tend to be expensive, so I just deal. Wish I could help more, but that is all I got.
So it's pretty much do it up as good as you can, and deal with it when you arrive? Is there an easy on-the-go fix if you use spray? When it was short enough that glue worked great, I would keep some in the car and it would fix up fine. I'm worried about putting glue over spray, that it might make it too heavy and separate/fall.
I use Aussie Instant Freeze hairspray. i usually just carry my can with me in my backpack when i go somewhere. Not good to leave it in a car on a hot day. If you spray some on and rub it in it dries relatively fast and has great hold.
well, i tilt my seat back a bit, remove my headrest, and i have to open the sun roof cover thingy (not the actual sunroof) and then a barely fit.

my friend though.... he has to pretty much lie the seat flat in order to sit in my car....
hey sarah! i just trimmed my hawk about 3 inches. my libs were a foot tall and were getting trashed on the ceiling of my car. before that i had the seat tilted back and at its lowest position and i just 'pimped my ride' leaning WAAAAAYYYY back, slouchy like. i did get some rain on my libs once and they started flopping, so i found a bathroom with a hot air hand dryer, resprayed my spikes with Got2bglued freeze spray, dried it under the dryer and was back in business! i guess your best bet (short of trimming it), is to make it super hard as you can with product so it doesn't get too trashed.
I have a tiny cavalier and my hair is a foot tall now. I had the same problem, usually if you just use hairspray you can easily comb it out and fix it. No big deal. But putting glue over hairspray isn't bad either unless you use too much or you don't put enough on the base of your hair. Putting just a little bit of glue at the tips of your hair should help quite a bit.

Btw I've noticed that the cars with the 'fuzzy' interior roofs don't help. I hate them, they mess with your hair more than a plastic one. I don't know if I make any sense, but I tried(:
I manage to just barely fit a +10" hawk into my Isuzu by taking the head-rest off, reclining the seat back, and then readjusting my mirrors. I usually pop the sunroof up to get another half-inch (since it just tilts up rather than opens fully). It takes some getting used to, but it's not too bad to do. I once had a woman waving frantically at me while doing 65 MPH down the turnpike here in order to get my attention, so she could make sure I saw her giving me a huge grin and a thumbs up. That was awesome. :D
Some more advice in these threads:

- driving with your hawk up
- functioning with a mohawk.
