Mohawks Rock

Since I got my hawk I've noticed my hair's been getting really greasy rather quickly. I used to actually shampoo my hair every 2 or 3 showers because I'm used to having semi-permanent dyed hair but I've been having to wash it every day I'm in the shower. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to prevent it from happening so fast without having to shampoo everyday?

me too but it is cool cuz it helps keep it up
I haven't tried to put it up with greasy hair yet, I usually do it with clean hair right out of the shower. Cause then I can blow dry it upsidedown lol
mine is getting greasy also, i always thought it was just my hair(always got greasy quickly)+working at McDonald, but i guess not lol. or maby i dunno.

my sisters who had some problems with greasy hair tried this new shampoo from 'the body shop' and they swear by it.

i don't bother though, i couldn't car less about it too be honest :\
alright so i noticed this too in the beginnings of my hawk, i used to only wash my hair 2-3 times a week and it was gravy like that. as soon as i started putting a lot of product in it and washing it more it began to get greasy more.. the only thing i've done to change it is i've actually washed my hair less and for a while my hair is disgustingly greasy but then it goes back to the way it used to be.

i've also put my hawk up with greasy hair and if you have a shorter one it actually helps for stability, but i'd say once it gets past 5-6 inches grease just makes it too heavy atleast in my hair anyways.

other than that, talk to someone at a salon about it if you care that much?
Only thing is I need to use a Damage repairing shampoo or else my hair is like wet straw and I can't even brush it, and a Color Stay Conditioner when I've got color in my hair ;p But I might deal with the straw and try that.
dont use soap! that would make your hair dry and gross. if your hair is already so fried definitly stay away from that! stick to the repairing shampoo..
it could be the product your using that is leaving a greasy residue on your hair but also its more then likely your hair trying to heal itself. between dying and styling your hair in a mohawk it does a lot of damage, your head makes the 'grease' to protect your hair which is why its good to brush your hair well every day (when its not up of course) to coat your strands in its natural grease.

maybe try to hold off on wearing your hair up often and take good care of it (there are tons of threads around with great hair care tips) it might help your problem :]
It never used to get greasy so fast before I cut off the most of it off, and I've only successfully gotten my hair up 3 times so I don't really think it's the product that's doing it. I do use a damage repairing type shampoo cause of how many times I'd dyed it in the past, but even then it didn't get greasy in 2 days, it was more like 4.

My mom always told me when my hair got greasy I should brush it all the time to coat everything naturally lol and I'd actually asked my doctor today if she new why (I figured why not, cause I was there) and she said it's most likely because there is less hair on your head so it takes less time to spread throughout it all.

So I guess I'm stuck washing it every single day or dealing with it. I'm gonna try a grease reducing type shampoo firs though.
well if your hair is thinning that is also more then likely related to the damage. be gentle and deep condition once a week, do some hot oil treatments here and there and continue using a strengthing/repairing shampoo. that should help keep your hair from breaking off or falling out more then normal. give it a good chance to thicken back up and get strong and healthy.
if by thinning you mean falling out it's not. I've always had very thin fine hair. I've never been able to get my hair nice and thick. I've even tried freaking $12 a bottle instantly thick type shampoos and conditioner that people have sworn by and it never worked lol it's just completely fried from bleaching and dying over and over but surprisingly never fallen out. I use the damage repair type shampoo/conditioner because it seems to be making my hair feel less like straw.
despite not thinking its falling out it is falling out and breaking off more then you realize.. the strain from putting your hair up and wearing it up for an extended period of time will make quite a bit come out when you wash/brush. and of course, being fried makes your strands break very easily. so on top of your naturally thin hair the amount you are losing is more then likely greatly playing into the grease problem. youll deff want to start the deep conditioning and hot oil (if you dont do it already) to help your fried hair get healthy again.
Where can I find this? I'm in Canada and as far as I know there is no Sallys that everyone seems to talk about.

Then again I thought there were no Chucky Cheese's either but I found out that was a lie!
