Agonizing pastry! Ahahahahah!!!!
AHHH fuck fuck. I got distracted on the chat and lost what I originally wrote.

So, there are a few ways to do it. You can do dermal punching, which will remove that chunk of skin entirely, or you can pierce it at a smaller size and stretch up from there.
Benefits of punching: 1 time effort - immediate gratification, you'll be at the size you want. Less time healing (in total)
Disadvantages: if you get sick of the piercing, you'll still have that hole there, i think the actual punch itself is kind of a slow process (if i remember correctly)

Benefits of stretching: for the most part, you can go down in sizes if you don't like where you are at or change your mind about piercing
Disadvantages: Multiple healing times, prolonged healing (slower process), moderate pain and difficulty as sizes go up (cartilage)

It depends on what you're willing to do with it.
By all means, stretching is a great way to go, but everyone has their own personal preferences. (when I had a tunnel in my helix..that was fun getting there...)
You can definitely stretch it.... it just takes some time and longer healing periods.

Mine got infected in the middle of a stretch..so badly that I didn't know, and I had gently touched it and it was all gooey and bleeding everywhere. Not pretty. So, instead of continuing up, I went back down to a 14. hah
How much do dermal punches hurt? I'm not particularly worried about pain, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but I like to be prepared.
of course they do, haha. ;-) how much depends on you, your anatomy, and the person doing it.
--sorry, just got off of work, i'm a bit of a smart ass at times.

it's essentially a razor that has to somewhat slowly cut through your skin, haha. essentially. i haven't had one done, but i've seen video/read experiences.
dermal punch.
they remind me of a hole punch.
cos they just take out a nice circle of flesh.
made me giggle...hysterically.

ohh and also
geting your conche punched out like that....
decreased hearing id you don't have a solid plug in.
Well, I s'pose you would need some place to put your treasure maps. Wouldn't want to get lost a-hunting in the wild UK. XD

Only pencils? I can fit my pinky through my 00's.

What fun are pencils?
XD

I used to do that....

Sad thing was, they et them anyways. Made me about sick and they knew it would.

Cuntcakes.
Lol, i go between 0 and 00 freely in my lobes, I have small fingers and therefore can fit my pinky through. at least until I hit my "chunky" knuckle. haha
If you wanna keep it see-through while retaining your hearing acuity for work then you could always get clear plugs, like this guy: http://ugliesttattoos.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/cfe74b85-800a-4bc...
thats about the size i want also, i was gonna post something along these lines in the next few weeks, thank you for doing it for me haha,

do a lot of parlors do the punch? anyone know? or is it some kind of not really practiced procedure?
Call ahead and ask. They might have to order the tool for you, others I know are prepared. It's not as uncommon as you would think, haha
