Personally I have PC's galore, but I have used MAC's in college and don't mind them. What's everyone else's views on one of the most popular technological battles in the modern world?

i wanna start by sayin pc stands for personal computer nd a mac is a type of personal computer so if we can please call it microsoft
thnx

doesnt run as easily on any nonmac pc so i get the best of both worlds
One interesting thing about this battle, to me, is that it's no longer based on a different hardware architecture - it's shifted to an Operating System software battle.

The only elements left on the 'hardware' side are the designs and the protections in place on Macs & its OS (though I know limited current knowledge there). I for one, like this lowering of dependance on hardware compatibility. Software cross-compatibility though is still the problem.

I haven't used the modern Mac OS though yet - so I can't really say much. =)
i've run linux on both i've used both with standard os's and these days if i had the funding(macs are freakin expensive to get the cheapest one even) i'ed rather buy a mac because their hardware may be x86 compatible but its still supirior(the hardware in macs has shorter pipelines still) to the standard x86 stuff plus you can now run windows and linux on it and you no longer need to use ppc linux so everything should compile just fine plus if you wanna use macos just install fink and poof you have a huge selection of linux software at your finger tips just wish you could replace that bloody bar across the bottom on macos(i'm a fan of using blackbox derivatives in win i use bblean and in linux i use fluxbox)
I remember that the Motorola PowerPC chips had shorter pipelines (in the days of the G4's) - but newer Mac's are using Intel chips for the last few years - as far as I can find out they're just exactly the same CPU model's as regular PC's . For example, Apple.com is saying their Mac Pro is using Quad-Core Intel Xeon chips.

Do you have any links that talk about Intel producing different dies for the CPU's in Mac's?
no sorry it was when i was at a mac fanboy's house he showed me the articles but i think it was talking about the boards in the newer ones and relating it to the chips in the g4's so i think thats why i said that

macs should burn they are overpriced and have no real value with how it's all just a huge company that has a apple for a logo i personally don't like windows either i would have to say that i have truely enjoyed linux ubuntu for it's ease of use and clean look also the price i have microsoft pcs and linux but macs seem well ya ugh. games pretty much cater torward microsoft.
