I really want a Mohawk but I'm to chicken to get one. Im just afraid it won't look good, or i won't be able to make it stand up properly. Which would be better to start with a short hawk or a long one? Any ideas?
You could always section your hair and see if you can make the middle stand to practice putting it up.
Shorter hawks are easier to start with than longer ones, in my opinion.
You also don't have to shave the sides straight away if it's too scary!
There are a LOT of topics JUST like this.
My advice is to look around. Try it out and if you still feel the same way after thinking about it for a while.
Then if you are still nervous maybe try a pixie cut that will allow for a faux-girl hawk. I did that for a short time just so it wasn't a drastic change and I could get used to styling it. Now I shave the sides allll the way down and love it.
First time I spiked my hair into a mohawk was when it was 2 or 3 inches all around, and I just kept spiking it that way koz I loved it, and eventually shaved it into a mohawk.
I use dry shampoo to add some clean grit to my hawk, then back comb,or "tease" it, then use hairspray to make it stand up....I use the can to smooth it ou. :) longer hawks are cool, cuz you have the extra hair to make it look more "normal@k
