im guessing its from keeping it up for a week at a time. hairs fall out just by running my fingers through it. any idea on making it stronger, preferably without buying hair products?
is it falling out all the time or did alot just fall out when you washed your hair out? having ALOT fall out when you wash your hawk out after having it up for a long time is pretty normal. but if its still falling out days later you need to stop putting it up until you can repair it. ill track down my list of healthy hair tips from another thread..
DEEP condition/use a hair mask once a week.. to make your own hair mask mix mayo, avacado, an egg, olive oil, melted butter, and conditioner. nuke it just a smidge so its warm and leave it in your hair for at least a half hour before washing out.
do hot oil treatments every two weeks to once a month.
trim your hair at least once a month.
wash your hair with warm water and rinse it with cold.
i know i have more somewhere haha..but i dont feel like trying to track them down at the moment. maybe later..but heres a thread with alot of talk about repairing hair (mind you it was from dying but its healthy hair tips either way)
also brush your hair (very gently for damaged hair!) everyday, brushing your hair coats your strands in your hairs natural oils which help protect your hair and keep it from drying it out.
dont wash your hair everyday, (depending on how oily your hair is) every other day should be plenty for most people but you also dont want to get too oily so dont go too long without washing!
alright cool, ill see what i can do with it. it falls out if i when i try to shampoo even and i havent had it up in a week. it could be from dying but i doubt it since ive only dyed it twice about a month or two apart.
If you aren't really coloring it, then it's probably how long you have it up and the product you're using.
Granted, we lose hair everyday, and if you aren't washing it every day then it definitely looks like you're losing a lot more than usual. Just make sure you give it TLC and some rest haha.
CorpseQueen has some good advice with the DIY at home conditioner. Check out the drug stores in your area, sometimes they might have something awesome for you to use when you aren't making that mask (since you would do it once every week or so).
I think you'll want to look for hot oil treatments vo5 is one that i know of. (I'm not sure what you're talking about, I know they are used as ingredients and stuff)
I use something called henna or hair placentas, especially after I bleach all of my hair out and torture it. And when I condition it I find that the longer it sits in your hair, the better it agrees (just plain old conditioner). But the specialty treatments are good.If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply near you or a Walgreens or CVS, you'll be set.
any local salon or beauty supply should have hot oil treatments. they are super cheap.. the ones i get cost only 99 cents. if your not sure what your looking for ask someone at the store, they should be able to at least point you in the right direction!
