Would anyone cut off their hawk for a girl or a guy? (Everyone's input would be appreciated)

Just wondering what you would do because earlier, me and my so called "best friend" were in a bar helping a few friends with a show(i filled in on guitar for them and he tagged along)and he started telling me all this shit about how i need to cut off my hawk and grow my hair shaggy like that little bitch zac efron. I got pissed!! Im like,"Why the fuck should I?? Look like every other abercrombie clone that walks around with their head up there ass??" He starts listing all like things wrong with punk and metal stuff and sayin its not cool with girls and he's startin to get embarressed of me. I say "what ever! You still aren't popular, even after you changed your look" He says its cause he's hangs with me so he "suffers by association". I say"do me a favor and go back and tell all those hollister bitches to go fuck themselves!!!Fuck you! Fuck them!! fuck everyone that trys to change me into that shit!!!" Then he says I should just get rid of the hawk at least. I could still dress in my metal bands t shirts and stuff but the mohawk has to go. I just said "Go fuck yourself". I got up and grabbed someones beer and smashed the glass into his chest to ruin his $150 hollister shirt, and left.
Now I've been thinkin maybe he's right? Maybe I should shave the mohawk and grow it out? Half of me says I should and it'll really actually be better, but the other half of me says I shouldn't because it wont matter, most of the chicks would still judge me 50 feet away. What should I do??? I used to have long wavy hair all the way down my back and I think that might have been more popular than the hawk. I'm starting to kinda miss it. I don't know what to do? I'm still kinda in shock i guess and stewing from earlier.

He is embarassed!? I'd be embarassed if one of my friends said something like that...suffering my ass. I honestly have people telling me we should hang out cause they want the novelty of being seen with someone who has an awesome hair style.

The mohawk is a notorious bullshit indicator. It weeds out people who are around for petty reasons and what not (for the most part). People who take the time to get to know you and who truly care about you won't give a rats ass if you have one. Don't let someone talk you into it. If your hair is as much of a part of your identity as it is for a bunch of us, you should make your own choices, not listening to the whining of the rest of the world. And he'd "let" you keep wearing your metal t-shirts? Fuck him. Its your body, your choice, your style, and your preferences.
His loss (and anyone elses) if they can't be your friend just because of your hair. It's wicked petty. There are much bigger things in life to be worried about.

Besides, why the fuck would you want want hair like Zac Effron?

Fuck that, stick with what you like. Just because he doesn't like your hawk, doesn't mean you have to cut it. There's enough people and especially chicks who love hawks. Why would you let someone else decide over your look... besides that, I think that haircut that most of the guys have right now is boring as shit. Find a new best friend, best friends never would say things like that, he's a prick.

I totally agree with all of you. It just came to me as a shock cause we've been friends most of our lives and hes never acted like that before. Just surprised that him out of all people would act like they were king shit on turd island. We've been through a lot and he used to have longggg hair, mohawks, dreads, spikes, piercings and all that. Never thought he would turn into what we both hated so much. I dont give a fuck about him, Im glad he got cut by that glass.

Still everyone comment. I wanna hear what you have to say.

True. There's just almost nobody I get along with because of the judgement of me not wearing the "in" clothes. He was the one person least likely to change though. He was so against it. Its almost like day and night. One day: Mohawk and a metallica t shirt. The next: Abercrombie whore. I don't really care, They can all go eat shit and die for all I care.

what everyone has already said is absolutely right. you were right to stand up for yourself and your image, but i dont think smashing the glass on him was necessarily a good idea....

He knew what he was getting into pissing me off, Segadoway. We've been friends pretty much all our lives. I always have a short temper but rarely ever actually loose it to the point someone gets hurt. He's been there before when I went off. He's lucky that's all I did was chuck a glass full of beer at him. Did you read about the prick that threw his shirt at me while I was on stage? He was there for that, hanging out with us. In my mind he knew his chances coming into it.

Sounds like a bloody prick to me. Fuck him. What you said was right man, be your fucking self. If being yourself means you were hollister, then so be it. But if being yourself means you look like zac effron, and you're NOT zac effron, so help me god you should see a shrink. Fuck him dude. The point is just to do whatever the fuck you want, and look however the fuck you want. If you're going to cut your hawk off just because of what he said, you might as well shave your head and get "cattle" tattooed to your forehead. It's people like that who make this world what it is, and that's by no means a pretty sight.

Besides, if he is so worried about getting off his "game" by hanging out with you, what kind of chicks is he trying to pick up? Not the kind I would want to hang out with. Yeah, he has a problem, and its not you.

I agree with everybody, It's his problem that he is embrassed with your mohawk!

I personally wouldn't cut my hawk in anyones order, only if I would want to!
