When I was younger I used to think alot about the 'why' and 'what' I liked about someone wearing sneakers and boots. I realised that there ain't any great reason or answer behind it. I suspect that some wires in my brain are cross connected there. haha
Still, it is like a craving. Like I guess what folk feel about drugs - except without any side-effects. I ain't ever done drugs, so I don't know if it compares. One thing is for sure, I get a cool buzz from someone wearing sneakers and boots or even just some pictures. I feel privileged to be trusted too and accepted for how I am.
A really good, single picture is almost like starving though - or a single draw of a cigarette (I suspect). =) I wonder about other angles or poses with the person and their boots/sneakers. I don't mean nude ones, or anything like that. I go for just ordinary clothed, natural shots. Sometimes I get an idea for them and then it's great for someone to cater to that.
An example of good natural shots are: boots angled out, standing apart as you would stand normally when resting, instead of soldier-like, straight together. The former is more powerful looking and confident.
With more pictures, it satisfies my craving - it makes them seem more real, like a time sequence of events. :D A video call is even better, 'cause you get to talk & interact in real-time. Usually, of course, like anything once you get all you want - when you want; it's not as important to you and the craving dies down. Though always a nice surprise to spring!
It's a very time related thing though. I find the waiting and hoping at times rough, when someone says they 'could' take some pics of them wearing their boots or sneakers. Like being very hungry, you want to have the food soonish! :D
Or it's like waiting for something in the post you desperately want and don't know when it'll arrive or if it gets forgotten and lost and will never arrive. Most often, my pic requests get lost! XD That can be depressing when I realise the person didn't mean it, decided not to bother or just lost track of the request.
All-in-all, it's not too bad a fetish to have. It's pretty innocent, clean and doesn't require much - except a cool, reliable person with the right smart sneakers or boots! :D A lot of the time, it's just the fact that someone bothers to take the time to help me that makes the most impact on me. I respect that and appreciate it, but I don't take it to mean anything major other than I'll help where I can. Whether that's just listening, advice or doing something for them - I'll try my best, even after they've thrown the fav. boots or sneakers out.
I'd like to thank those who have and do help - it cheers me and makes my day or week even sometimes! =) I can be a solid, reliable friend when they need one over the Internet. And I'm online way too often! =)
Thanks for reading this far - and I hope this helps you understand a bit more about me.
Any questions, fire away in the comments! :D
Okay, I got one for you. You ever see those Oi! pictures with the Dr. Martens, where one is toe down, turned sideways, and the other is just plants normally. I for some reason, draw that alot. I too, take shoes and boots very seriously. Not to your extent, but that's actually fairly interesting.
@Patches: I completely agree, I've noticed certain aspects of personality can go along with the style of boots/sneakers people wear. Another thing, often the look of someone's face/clothing gives away what style of sneakers/boots they might wear and it's not usually a surprise when I find out what they choose, 'cause they just seem to match up with their features somehow. Perhaps it's like someone looking like they fit their firstname?
@Brody: Thanks. I don't think I have seen those pics - do you mean, like resting on a wall? Do have any linky to an example?
It's interesting mentioning drawing there, 'cause I always found it difficult when I got to drawing a figure's boots/sneakers 'cause of the fore-shortening and the way the leather/canvas folds. It's quite an art in itself to get feet looking right! :D
You ever here anything about Grinders apart from me? I've seen some 3 eye shoes called "Regent" that grinders makes, cheap in my size at a local 2nd hand shop
http://romanticantihero.com/2011/10/01/music-patches-bands-labels-g... It's the second image down on there. It's a cool patch. I know a lot of people who wear it.
@Brody: Oh, yeah! I know it now. Yeh, I like that pose of the boots - very natural and yet tough.
@Jarhead John: Don't think I've spotted any pics on your profile wearing boots - skate shoes yeah. Which sometimes are okay looking too, by me. :D
@Steve: Well, as you know, often you get either no reply from folk or just a single word or in this case, I recently just got a single picture of someone wearing Grinders on my comments out of the blue, but no info or further rerply about them yet. :( Couple folk still seem to swear by even the newer construction materials, though again I usually only hear once when they buy them and never again about how they are once broken in.
Just googled Regent shoes and found them, they look quality enough. Though for me, shoe height is important. haha Always disliked dress shoes (forced to wear them to school), at least the regents look like cut-off boots, so not so bad and great soles on them. :)
Oh, and the reason I don't (generally) like low cut shoes is that it shows the ankle and for some reason I dislike the ankle's bony joint. Which is also why I prefer someone wearing ankle-high socks with sneakers to cover the ankle up! :D Plus white sock above the sneaker looks good, IMHO. Though I don't like socked feet or bare feet at all and the recent 'hiiden socks' are hideous to me :'( LOL Like surgical gloves or something...*shudders*
I don't care about shoes themselves. Though I might shudder at someone wearing some I don't like! heh
I'm no giant fan of low cut footware either, but with the swealtering heat here in Florida I think that may be more comfortable, or a gigantic waste of cash! Time will tell I supose!
