One of the best concerts I've attended in my life was Mindless Self Indulgence. A seemingly unknown band that none of my friends had heard of or would even go to, I went solo and had a blast. That was several years ago. Today, I was quite excited to see that they are getting some much deserved recognition for their rock/punk/noise unique sound. While tracks like "Bed of Roses" and their remake of Wu-Tangs "Bring the pain" are instant classics from the past, the fact that they made a song called "I hate Jimmy Page" and survived the rock n roll scene says a lot for them.
Currently they have reached #1 on Billboards top hot dance singles with their song "Straight To Video". Coincidentally, they also hold the #4 spot on that chart with their hit single "Shut Me Up".
Below is the video featuring disturbed store clerk going crazy, throwing babies and yelling "I love my coffee black just like my metal". I figure any video that starts with a warning stating...
"MSI Warning: Mindless Self Indulgence has been known to cause spasmodic fits of madness in random store clerks resulting in eventual spontaneous human combustion. Please Enjoy"
...is probably a video worth at least giving a watch.
I look forward to the show in Atlanta, GA on May 10th. Find out more about Mindless Self Indulgence on their official website or add them on myspace and tell them know you read about them on Mohawks Rock. Hope you all enjoy them and feel free to write up blogs about bands you like too.
P.S. The video and song is probably not suitable for work and those that are easily offended, or those that could not understand why Mohawks Rock.
