Adding Your Hometown on MohawksRock.com

Until I started up this non-admin account, I did not realize how counter-intuitive it was to set up your hometown on here.

To the right of the page, below where it says "Hello [Your Name]" you will see a link that says "My Settings". Clicking this will take you into your account tab and show you where to enter your hometown so we can more easily see where you rock your mohawk.

Let me know here, if you have any questions or concerns about MohawksRock.com. I'll use this as more of a technical blog, for the fun things you can do with this site, especially as the OpenSocial Network stuff builds.

Comment by CheyenneJack on May 8, 2008 at 12:47am: I have been looking into that feature, since I would like it too. However, people are not required to put in hometown. I suppose I could make it a requirement but really want sign up to be quick and easy.

The best solution that I have for you, is to do what I did and create your own subgroup on here for your hometown, country or even state. Also, by adding events and putting the town that should help too. I'm hoping to meet a few MohawksRock.com members at the Mindless Self Indulgence concert this weekend in Atlanta. Will be cool to definitely meet fellow MohawksRock people.

Also, posting the events either in the events or that towns, subgroup will let others know whats going on in your area. Like I may need to go to Vegas but am flexible, but if I know there is a great concert and even some MohawksRock.com folks there, i'll definitely look to plan in that timeframe.
