Mohawks Rock

This freeze frame from an unattributed, unverified You Tube video labelled "90 Seconds Inside D-Day" purports to be rare color motion picture footage of Mohawked American soldiers suiting up for the Normandy Invasion on D-day, That is definitely the door of an old C-47 troop transport plane like the ones used by the 101st Airborne Division on the D-Day jump. And that is definitely a "Screaming Eagles" shoulder patch of the 101st Airborne Division on one soldier's uniform -- so I assume this is authentic footage of the actual D-Day jump. If so, then it is apparently the only known color footage of the D-Day paratrooper Mohawks. Color combat footage of World War Two is extremely rare. Most Signal Corps footage in that era was black-and-white. .
