Well Nix there was one that definitely got away. He got away with the whole damn pole :p lol had fun I only caught two fish all weekend though ;)

It does look like a kind of Perch indeed. We enjoy the Pickeral (or Walleye as they are called as well) the most. It was nice that you threw him back in though! :-)

Mostly everyone around here fishes for bass and catfish. We've got lots of weird fish in the Arkansas River though. I hate the Gar I think they look totally prehistoric and they have actual teeth lol

Well I'm not really sure everyone laughed when I was asking what it was they said some kind of perch but they'd only use it for bait. I thought it was a cute lil guy though, threw him back in. :)

Cool Sarah.....all we have around here is Perch, Pickerel, Jack and Rainbow Trout. What is the one you have??
