I'd say, avoid generalisations about someone's character based on a pic, though. I believe it's more important to judge someone on getting to know who they are, how reliable they are, what sense of honour and manners they have in dealing with others both online and off. Perhaps you have here, but the earlier comment came across badly.
I can't see where materiality & hypocrisy come into this image? That's a pretty random, false assumption bordering on old fashioned bigotry. True character is an independent thing that you can't judge on images. Morality is based on ingrained social conventions of conduct which at times can be overblown and seem prudish when looked at neutrally in our current modern more open society.
Still, it's better not to reduce to unjust insults back and forth online (without seeming basis) and better to consider first what you say to avoid it coming across as a snide remark. My two cents.
