Take a bowl. Put some water in it. Put a bar of soap in it. Let is sit for a few hours, or over night, i leave mine in a tupperware container so its always on hand. Wait till it gets all gooey and soft. Take some of that shit and mix it up with got2b hair glue in your palms. Coat your hair REEEAAAL good with the shit. Bend over so your upside down and blow dry it real hot until its fairly dry. Take two fine toothed, stiff combs. Put them together, one on either side of the hawk, interlocking the teeth of the combs and pull them through your hair, still upside down. Get it to your satisfaction and then carefully hairspray it, not adding too much, cause it'll weight it down. Wait till that gets a good dry, once your satisfied with it, and then do a couple more coats every ten or so minutes, letting it dry good in between. I find this works like a charm. Your hair doesn't knot up cause of no back combing, and the soap in it help wash the glue out too when you do shower. The worst damage is when you do the pull through. It minor compared to other ways i've found though....
Yeah, thats a fuckin kickass hawk. I used to swear by soap and glue, cuz I had no electricity or sink. Now I use Murray's pomade (jeez I'm starting to sound like a commercial for the stuff). It's a lot like how you want the soap to be only a little better and not painful. Soap kinda dries out yer hair and tugs at your scalp.
With my hair - I used to use Elmer's glue, but that was harsh to get out. Lots of hair got ripped out in the process in the shower so I eventually gave up on that. Now I just use strong hair spray (alcohol-based for quick dry) on very dry hair. I do each spike individually and use a hair dryer on it for about five minutes. Sometimes I use a touch of glue on the tips to get them sharp, but that's about it.
As for hair dye, I use Manic Panic. I bleach the hair thoroughly and then wait about 24 hours before putting the color in. I usually rinse the bleached hair but I never use a conditioner after the bleach because that makes colors duller when I try to apply them. I like Manic Panic because it's just a dye... it doesn't fry hair like hair color kits. Therefore I leave it in for several hours to get maximum color saturation.
Hahaha that's really cool. :) i love it! I'm thinking of dying my hair bleach blonde and get my friend to do black leopard or zebra print on the sides. :P
Lol defintatly. I need to let my hawk grow out a bit first. My dad messed up my hawk so I ended up losing it. :( hopefully it will grow back soon though :)
