i play guitar in a band called swallow your pride, were a mix of stoner metal with doom breakdowns, but i like all kinds of music just this is the funnest to play when your wasted!
Yeah mark told me about the gig, if i can make it i will mate.
My vox are different for the different bands, my punk band is really Casualties style and im in a heavy metal band where its Goregrowls and shit, like Lamb of god mixed with cannibal corpse lol you got msn dude?
^_____^ thanks!
hmm something unusual...
well i know theres two wierd ones i want because.. well, no one has them haha!
ummm.. i want to get my uvula (the dangly thing in the back of your throat) and my eyelid pierced.
so.. if you want unusual, there you go :D
or if you want your eyebrow or something, get two beside each other.
its a lot less common.
:)
Just enjoying myself, reading, games, VHS tape digitising - then suffering fixing PC's :D From myself, family to a friend half-way across the globe, we all have computer troubles at times I get to try and solve. Even my neighbour is trying to rope me into installing hardware as a job. heh heh
It's good you're busy with the band stuff, lotta practice and marketing I bet, man. I'm sure you'll rock the house down over the next month at your gigs. What's the plans with the recording?
Funny enough, same issue with converting VHS, all about getting good quality from the right codec and setttings without eating up too much space on disk!
Once setup, it's very easy though, just takes the time to record & convert in the background.
Ow! £31-odd an hour for studio time, can see why your mouth drops open :O Still, worth it for the quality - for sure, for a demo track. More folk in the biz will take it seriously, I'd reckon too.
I guess, if you split it between band-members, it's not so bad. Make it a joint Xmas present to each other =)
Well, I've not tried it - 'cause my brother is the mac user of the family :D But this converter seems promising:

Note: Has a beta download version as well as the online.
I went the complicated route with converting VHS to the PC. My dad has a very good DV camcorder that unlike mine, can take in video & audio and convert it and pass it out through a IEEE 1394 (Firewire) cable to record as digital on the PC (which if you don't have that socket on, you can get a cheap IEEE 1394 PCI card to plug in, probably round about a tenner now-a-days).
The one part I was missing in all this, until recently was a switchable SCART in/out connector for the VHS player - finally my friend found me a cheap one for a pound :D (I didn't want to pay the £5 for the value Tesco one *grin*)
Most scart connectors are missing pins and are only for input.
Normally, it'd be easier (and cheaper if you don't have the right DV camcorder) to get a TV capture card, which now-a-days are quite cheap (I'm guessing around £40), but the quality is something to checkout reviews for before deciding which one will do.
I can understand what you mean, with the one track turning into them wanting others :/ Plus it takes time getting used to using the studio, I suspect, so one day might not be enough. Esp. if you have vocal track to lay down.
Oh, and I'd be interested in seeing your films. My friend is trying to do some - I do some vids, but haven't yet done anything that is actually edited or a story. Yet...heh
No probs - I can imagine the going without sleep documentary lol Never a good thing to suffer for that long! Good luck with the vid converting anyway. :)
if you got some time left to talk some day you can add my hotmail. dissar3@hotmail.com im curious about UK^^ i dont know why thats just the way it is ^^
You never warned me how tricky spikes are... :| I'll be trying for a third time tomorrow. I did not bad ones, first time - but then I took some photos...and scrapped them. :( No way near as nicely done as yours!
I need practice! I do! :D How's things going? And how did the recording go in January?
That sounds good, getting to the semis - how many bands were in the contest at the start? Here's hoping you get the cash!
I've been doing pretty good - been busy since Jan, got the bug to be active again and code - even though right now it's getting a little harder 'cause most of the stuff left to do in my program is either hard or fixing stuff I don't wanna suffer through. =)
What's been happening with your Internet access? Oh, and I like your new fan pic against the patterned leaves.
I guess in a way I am going towards CGI - but I'm more game-orientated. Good CGI is way time-consuming, it takes minutes to render(draw) a single frame. Though now-a-days, some of the graphics CGI demos work in real time if you have a good enough graphics card. I always like playing around with those - since they're free - and that's where I'll probably be working on next, but I at the beginning of learning to do it. Mainly animaton and procedural effects are what I'm interested in. My profession was programming.
Would you mind if I ask what sort trainers or boots you like? Or some pics of rocking them with your spikes?
Here's the latest demo as a video - it needs an ATI card, and they haven't released the demo as a program yet. But it's pretty impressive for real-time CGI - meaning you should be able to change camera angle as it runs without waiting!
Oh, if my request about trainers seems odd - no worries. I'm just mildly curious. =)
Sorry to hear about your borken foot - hopefully it's not causing you troubles now. Some K-Swiss can be not bad, depending on how they look. I get how you go for ones that are comfy though. Cheers, man!
Sorry, the link just needed copy & pasted, but here's it as an easy clickable one: Ruby CGI Demo
Great news on you winning! Good work! :D You're doing good to get to the finals. Get that practice in and go for the win!
I've not done anything really I feel worthy of showing on YouTube - most of the stuff I did was years ago. So, things have really improved!
Like in that clip for example. It's a rolling demo (like a film, but you can change things about them, like effects, or cameras) that's was meant to be realised last Autumn or so - but hasn't shown up yet. It was done to demonstrate a new techinique the company ATI (makes graphics cards) has, which lets them get really realistic scenes and objects in real-time.
Hopefully, it'll be available for download soon - they usually eventually release the demos all for free.
This is another one - which I do have, and if you have a good enough graphics card you can probably try it too. Nvidia Mermaid
You can see how it's interactive, the person is messing around making the hair float around as they shift the camera angle. You can also change the colour and length of the hair and stuff.
Yeah, I know what you mean, we all move on from online sites at times. I'm spending less time to on here too.
Congrats. man! And to your band. Good to hear all your hard work and practice did it!
I've been both good and experiencing deja-vu with other folk. It's funny, how false folk can be and expect you haven't heard it all before. I went out last night, a bit boring, but at least good enough weather for it. Gonna get my hair bleached and blue, just waiting on some bleach atm.
