About Me:
Loved Mohawks since I first saw them in drawings and photos as a child. Wanted one for most of my life on some level but never got around to actually doing one until this year.I finally did my own in January 2008 and it was even better than I anticipated, flaws and all- a lot of people thought I had it done but I could see where it wasn't right. I let my hair grow out for a nephew's wedding in June 2008 (He'd have been cool with it, but I was thinking of my parents, who'd love me anyway, but )... As soon as I got home from the wedding I called my local barber and had him do a fat, well-cut Mohawk. It came out much better than the DIY I had before. With some shaving it looks like what I feel deep down a Mohawk should look like. For me my desire to have a Mohawk is very much a deep-down, primal thing, which may stem from my Celtic roots; Clonycavan Man, a 'peat bog' body found near Dublin, Ireland, apparently had a done-up Mohawk- 2,300 years ago! Anyway, I love the look and the feel of life with a Mohawk!

    Welcome to Mohawks Rock Mark.

Cool that you're rockin' a 'hawk again..
  • Giant Mohawk Man

I'm just amazed that you found a barber that would actually do the mohawk. I know a lot of people here have to DIY because barbers won't or don't know how. They should be on here saying stuff like "I'm a barber, come to me, and we'll rock the hawk." I think there is a huge void out there for this.

Thanks for the comment. I guess we're both lucky - I have a stylist that does my 'hawk the way I want.... :).

Saw your mohawk shots and the fact that you are into Linux. Did you take the pictures to do some kind of 3D modeling project of the new mohawk?
  • Giant Mohawk Man

Yes, I'm familiar with Linux as I'm a developer myself. Granted I should probably learn more about Linux as I primarily run Windows stuff and I know linux has great advantages. I think the new Blu-ray players or at least the first ones were running linux.

The only problem I have with linux is trying to figure out where to start. Always seems like there are a 100 different kinds and builds, but thats probably just how any technology is before you get into it. Is Ubuntu Linux?

Oh, and yeah, that was cool how the photos lined up that way. Looks like your barber did a good job.
