A list of valuable resources you may wish to check out.
infoshop.org - Best all purpose anarcho site on the web. News, views, insanely in depth FAQ, and forums.
CrimethInc Ex-Workers Collective - Awesome books, pamphlets, stickers and blogs. Cheap for those who are willing to buy, along with a huge online library of texts and also PDF files.
Ground Noise and Static pt 1 - Report back from the DNC/RNC of 2008. Goes over the mass arrests that occurred under a media blackout. There will be links to parts 2 and 3 by clicking on part 1. About 30 minutes total.
freedocumentaries.org - Tons of free documentaries on many subjects including globalization, human rights, environmental issues and much much more. All available to be streamed absolutely free!
sinalfire.org - A lot of useful information you wont find from the corporate media!
Democracy Now! - Grassroots, independent syndicated daily news show. Streaming video, downloadable audio and typed transcripts of every show can be had freely.
CorpWatch - Corporate Watch dog site. Lot of info to be had about corporate crime.
Riseup.net - Radical tech collective. Offers secure server based email on a mutual aid basis along with info on encryption, different things such as POP and IMAP email and how to keep your emails safe. This is very valuable if you are involved in clandestine direct action groups or activism in general.
AK Press - Publisher and distributer of great radical titles. So many awesome titles in every category.
Microcosm Publishing - Another very awesome publisher and distro. Best part of this collective is their focus on zines as well as books!
The End of America - Documentary based on the new book by Naomi Watts detailing the steps towards fascism. This film is very disturbing. (Be warned that there are commercial breaks in the stream but it is a free view and you should watch it)
I'll be sure to check a lot of tose out. The only anarchist site I've found thats worth reading is www.fuckauthority.org But at the moment is seems unavailable.
ok so where i'm at there aren't a whole lotta people like mostly, i dunno a good word for it, "everyone else" types of folks, hardly any alternative people, few if any radicalists, most folks are more so mtv watchers and obama supporters in a mater of speaking, there are few radicalist or anarchist types of things happening that i know of besides the anarchist bookfair once or so a year here in tacoma, so i'm looking to start a bit of an affinity group with the goal of collecting, uniting and gathering people with similar interests in getting involved with such things
i'd like some feedback, what do you guys think of my idea? good bad to strict limited, what? any ideas for helping motivated like minded thinkers and open minded people to come out of there little excluded closets and become involved in there ideals?
i'm thinking of using a myspace and tribe.net as the networks for this "thinking persons liberation" project (name change needed), any other ideas or networking in the tacoma, washington area?
