A group for collecting up all the crazy links and stories about schools suspending young kids for mohawks and other such attrocities that may display an individualistic nature.
I've added a news feed that should bring up news off of Google about kids getting suspended over mohawks. If you read the articles, leave a comment and let them know they have support from the Mohawks Rock Community for sure.
Ugh I sympathize with all of you, especially the guy who lives in SW Georgia filled with hicks because I live in this small hick town in Washington filled with hicks. I dropped out and got my GED but before that I was harassed by sheep hicks all the time. They all look and talk the same (they try to have this southern accent when they aren't even southern! It's ridiculous!) I don't know how many arguments I got in about veganism when I didn't even start it. My teachers tried to make me dissect and shit like that but I knew my rights and my Mom raised hell and I got my way. They never really bugged me about my clothes or anything, except stupid stuff like a rip too high up my knee...are you kidding? Ooh what a fuckin peep show, a tiny piece of my thigh...and you aren't allowed to wear tank tops, again ooh what a fuckin peep show, a shoulder I'm sure every guy will be drooling over my shoulder instead of doing their work. Just another excuse to control how I look.

i used to put up my hair with wood glue in high school then tell the administrators it wouldn't wash out, needless to say they got over it after a number of suspensions
I get suspended every time I change the colour.
Principle says I "just don't learn". It's funny, he's too much of a pussy to kick me out of the school. Oh well. I wore it up the day the super intendant or whatever was coming, just to piss him off. It worked. I got suspended for a week.
The first day I wore my hawk down at my school the lunch ladies were talking about it one was like "your hair looks better today." "it's good to be different" "not that different" WTF? like i wasn't even standing there, can I get my water now...
when i first got my mohawk the school gave me endless shit, everyday, then it just died down, but i just recently cut into into a top chelsea, so i have some side strips, then my head is completely shaved all the way around, and it's long on top, one of the sides is died red, and theres a strip of red in the long part and my english teacher was just baffled and giving me shit about it, suprisingly my rotc sgm really liked it
my school we have a dress code where you have to wear khakis and a collared shirt,no un-natural hair colors what so ever or 2 toned hair, and no un-natural hairstyles(including my mohawk)
when i got it i put it up for the day i went back to school from the weekend and I DIDNT EVEN GET IN THE DOOR and they bitched at me to go straight to the office. they made me wash it out in the bathroom! ><
when i put up my spikes they sent me home in five minutes because it was too extreme so i went home washed it out and tied t back so it looked like i have a short hawk
when i got my first hawk in grade 7, i actually had no trouble with it at all. i don't think the teachers liked it but i was usually a good kid, didn't get in fights or anything. anyways i used to get teased by a few kids, but i just laughed it off.
as for my high school, i know they don't like them, and i have half a year left till i graduate, so im gonna wait about a month or 2 more till i get my hawk, and then fight them to the grave. iv allready told my parents that *when* i get my Mohawk i most likely will be getting sent home on a regular basis at the start.
