Usually new things arn't as great as the old. Such as a "part 2" of a movie, or if the character is played by another actor it kills the feeling of the movie, likewise towards a new singer replacing the previous one.

I didn't say they had any heavy shit, I basicly said that ALOT of it is just generic pop/rock with a slightly off-putting following of people in silly cloths.

People really need to let go of the 'Nu-metal is shit and full of sellouts' view, It was just about true up till about 2002 at the latest, when it was popular but people moved on, Nu-metal bands are just as under-payed and overworked as everyone else and they have just as few fans as anyone else in the world of metal.

You might also take time out to notice that Chimaira stormmed into the world as part of the Nu-metal scene =p Maybe consider that before saying how they're all sellouts hehe.

Half of the so called 'image' that most bands seem to biuld up is almost entirley thier fans blowing shit out of proportion. Like Slipknot for example, they get this shitty rap for being popular and because of this bullshit 'm4gg0tz 4 lyfe!' mentality of faaar too many of thier fans. If people would just formulate thier own opinions instead of just agreeing with whatever they see on the internet they'd be so much better off for it. Again for example Slipknot, if you'd look past their popular image you'd discover they that do play some heavy fucking songs! The same goes for the likes of alot of this 'emo' nonsence. Half the bands labeled as emo are just stand up average pop/rock bands. Christ look what happened to MCR, thier whole last album got slated to shit because of thier fanatical folowing of 12y/o kids, is that thier fault? Fuck no, it isn't.

The same goes for genres. One band does not lie under one genre. Many bands out there switch back and 4th between them inside of a single album but people rarley realise that. Genres should only ever be used to describe the style of music of a band to sombody who has never heard them, even then you should probably say a few. Otherwise they're usless. I can barley even stand to talk about them they annoy me so much.

..the term ''hardcore'' is more of an adjective rather an actual subgenre since you can describe deathmetal as hardcore metal if use the actual meaning of the word, and yes i know it originated from punk.

..I have nothing against nu-metal and i dont know why most dont like/appreciate it. Its just another child of the master metal.

..about Slipknot I think it is because of the rivalry between Mushroomhead claiming they stole their appearance and so on. Very vague since we are about the music not the looks.

..the subgenres are important imo, but this -core shit is really annoying, since the -cores mainly speed up their music and shout their lyrics, which makes it unbearable sometimes.

..CoF is known for that and I love the chants and choirs they add to their music with creates a work of art imo.
