Mohawks Rock

Maybe if I start a discussion we'll get more members...

I'm 27 and I have a 3 year old son Jake and a 1 year old daughter Lucy. I got pregnant my last semester of college, but was able to finish and get my BA in Fine Arts. So now I freelance from home so I can be home with my kids.

That's awesome! I'm 25, I have a son that will be 3 and a daughter that will be 1, both born in December. I admire the fact that you were able to finish college. I only got an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with myself besides being a mommy.
Hey thanks. Funny our kids are the same ages. It's tough finishing school with kids, don't know if I could have done it with a baby (not just being preggers). My husband tried going back to school, but it was really too much trying to work full time, go to school full time and still spend time with the kids.

Most days I like the SAHM routine, but adult contact is always a good thing haha.
I totally understand that! I did go back to school for a little bit and ended up prego with my daughter, managed to finish and graduate before she was born, but I wasn't able to complete everything I needed to do for my cert. Now I'm not sure if I'll be going into that field (such a waste of money), but I can say I at least went for a personal benefit.

I am so happy to see a section for us Mommyhawkians (say it out loud. It's fun!!!!). I have a 10yr old daughter and a husband that both totally love the fact that I have unusual hair. My daughter will often point me out and say "that one over there with the green/purple/pink/ whatever...mohawk is my mom." My husband used to have a mohawk back in the day. At first when I told him I was going to cut off my dreads and maybe try a hawk he was pretty opposed to it. He very gently said that he didn't think it would look right on me because I kinda have a large head. I said "gee... thanks honey" then went out and did it anyway. Needless to say, it was love at first sight and now he helps me clipper cut and color it. He is my own personal stylist and he always gives me a once over to make sure I didn't miss anything and that it's all straight. My daughter always is coming up with new outrageous ideas for me that she would never do to her own hair in a million years. Right now she totally loves having the "weird" cool mom." I hope it stays that way for at least a little bit longer. I know us moms usually end up being labeled "lame" in the end. Anyway, keep on rockin' the Mommyhawks and always be yourself. ~Eclectic Momhawk

Awww, that's awesome. My daughter (now 3) wants a mohawk and pink / purple hair. Whenever she talks about cutting her hair my almost 5yr old son cries, lol. He's my little conservative one. My brother keeps telling me he's going to rebel by being a popular jock, lol.

My daughter is constantly drawing all over herself to have tattoos like mommy. So far they both like having a colorful momma, hopefully it stays that way :D
