Mohawks Rock

OK, actually I'm now over 50. Still love having a 'hawk. It's me, and has been for many years. But I do comments from others such as 'Haven't you outgrown that phase?' My response is usually, 'Heck no!'

What experiences have you other 'Seniors' had?

I've had a mohawk on and off since 78 I'm 48 now and still sporting the mohawk.to be honest I get less bad remarks now than when punk was gathering media attention back in the dark ages.Nowadays people seem to appreciate individualism . Like you remarked the most common question is ' dont you think you're a bit old for that ' then they guess my age and it's always a lot younger than I am .......MAKES MY DAY ...WTG
I get the age guessing question as well. Usually they place me 10-15 years younger than my actual age.

I'm active in an over 45 discussion group at a local community center. Remarkable how 'young' some of the 'seniors' act and think. I also attend a younger group there, and sometimes they behave and talk 'older' than the 'over 45' group. The 'over 45' group seems to be much more open minded to differences and individual thinking than the younger people. Hopefully, it's just a phase for them. I'd hate to see a generation of clones following our lead.

one good reason why I'm a 3d animated head on my profile ...cos I hate the camera .

Most of the time people pretend not to notice but so far I've had little but very positive feedback. Nobody accuses me of 'midlife crisis,' at least not within earshot. As for me I turn 47 next month, and I've had a Mohawk for five years now. One of the main reasons I do a Mohawk, though, is because I still can pull it off. I have absolutely no regrets and only wish I'd done it sooner. I get the most compliments from teenagers and twentysomething men, and elderly women.
