RAW color is pretty good, lasted the longest in my not blond hair :)
Although this discussion is old, if you still care, use Ion Solutions color brilliance brand hair dye. I used a pink and I lasted BRIGHT BRIGHT INSANE PINK for like 7 weeks before I noticed any fade. It was amazing, but by that time I wanted a new color and changed it anyway. I've also experienced five star sucess with their red and purple colors. I looks like you dyed it that day, a month later. I fades nicely too, respectfully continually bright. The lightest colors they have are blues and oranges, but nothing yellow or green....however, Crazy Color has a semi-permanent Canary Yellow that I've found lasts longer than Manic Panic's Electric Banana.
This pic...I had used ion solutions color brilliance, and this was the last time I had it red...well like a good month and a half later. I regularly, every other/daily wash my hair with color safe shampoos and conditioner. You can see fading on my sideburns... For a four dollar hair color, I find that impressive.
really with manic panic, special effects, etc. if you add heat to it, it will turn permanent.
I've even turned that shitty hair dye called "color fiend" permanet (bad choice cause it was blue, hardest color to lift).
any who if you want your stuff to last a long time (and sometimes forever).
1. add hair dye
2. keep it in for a couple hours (this shouldn't damage your hair since most dyes only deposit color) *Note* Do not do this with a box dye cause most of them lift and dye... actually just don't even use box dyes at all cause they're horrible.
**really you might even be able to skip #2, however, I just like to sit around with dye in my hair just in case**
3. you're hair should be almost air dried... to finish it off, blow dry it on the hottest setting till your hair is completely dry (it should be all crusty and shit cause the hair dye is still on your head.)
4. rinse and use conditioner only.
5. enjoy your new permanent hair color, who ever has to remove the color... will hate your guts. :]
I've done this with color fiend (blue color) which stayed a bright blue forever and I've also done this with a purple hair dye called Splat.. its base color was pink, so it faded to a good "holy shit i can't even tell thats faded" neon pink.
Then i bleached over the pink and it was like a faded pink... so i dyed over it with a reddish brown permanent color.
the blue had to be removed at a salon, it took about 2 or 3 bleaches and still didn't come out fully and had to be dyed over a darker color.
