Dude, just saw the Offspring last night at the Hard Rock in Orlando, and I have to say....... Hard Rocks FUCKING SUCK!! I knew right as I walked twords the hard rock, it was not gonna be a fun night. The placed was paked with trendies and wanabes. I only saw one other real punk, besides my girlfriend and myself, and that was AFTER the show. Luckily, we found some cool guys to hang out with. They were the kind of guys who listen to punk but don't have the personality to match. More kinda the really socially akward kids from high skool, that listen to punk. You know the ones I mean. The kids who WISH they had the balls to do punk stuff, but were never really taught how. But they were pretty cool, and one was wereing an Exploited T-Shirt, so we had a lot to talk about. But the real reason I knew this was not going to be the night I had imagined was when I saw the HUGE NO MOSH PITTING. NO CROWD SURFING. ALL VIOLATORS WILL BE EJECTED. Yeah right, no mosh pits at an Offspring concert? Well, they enforced it. They would come through the crowd with six, seven bouncers to grab one guy and throw him out for bouncing around to much. And the three people who crowd surfed? They were all grabed by bouncers.

However, The Offspring played a truly amazing show. Some dumbass Britsh guy with an acoustic guitar opened, trying to tell us he was really a punk, and that he infilltraited folk music. Bullshit. He sang a song called "Punk Rock Saved My Life." Bullshit. Then Sum 41 came on, and as a fan owning two albums, I can surely and truthfully say..... They were abso-fuckin-loutely TERRIBLE. Hated it. Now I'm patially embarressed to even LIKE them.

But I'm typing this to explain about the Offspring so I'll get on with it. They came onstage and I could tell that all the shit time I'd had so far, plus the $43 bucks I paid were worth it. They were backed with a great light show, incuding three twenty-foot high LED screens. Kinda makes you wonder just how much they sold out, right? They blasted out right off the bat with "Shit Is Fucked Up" and right into Bad Habit, one of my personal faves ;) And from ther on out, I didn't give a fuck who was in the crowd with me, fuck 'em all. It was me and the band, like it should be. Their set was better than what I expected. They played a lot of their old stuff, but nothing from their first two albums :( They played a bunch off their new album, but they didn't over do it. They even put on "Intermission" (an intermission track of slow, easy music from Ixnay), and a guy in a sombrarro came on stage and threw big beach balls to the crowd.

It was a great show, and I deffinetly recomend going. Just show up late and don't expect to see anyone you like (bring friends XD). And make sure the venue allows mosh pits. Oh, and you can forget about their "Pick Our Setlist" shit. They have set up songs and you text in your favorite. Bullshit. Again. I konw no ones going to read this because of its size and the fact that the guy.... girl, sorry.... who started htis group didn't even post a reply to her own topic. But it was theriputic and I'm not even going to profread. So hope fully you'll scroll down the page and see this next line.




A MUST SEE!! JUST MAKE SURE YOU GO TO AN OFFSPRING SHOW FOR THE OFFSPRING, DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING FROM ANYTHING ELSE.

Oh, did you get the four pack at Pompano? I spent too long trying to get four people to go with me, but alas, everyone I know is poor :( So I went with three people to the one in Orlando because it was cheaper and closer. Boy did I make the wrong choice.....

Damn, must have missed that :( Hate to burst your bubble, but central FL kinda sucks to.... But then again, everywhere kinda sucks ;) When you move we should meet up at some shows or something, and if you haven't, join 305 Punks! We're trying to get all the punks on MohawksRock to meet up somewhere

Thanks :) I don't even think my girlfriends read it.... And she was there :(.......... ;)


BTW: Just checked The Offspring website. It doesn't look like they're going to New Zeland for the rest of the tour, but, and I'm sorry to tell you this, I think they were there earlyer on in the tour.
