I think it's always good to see the wider picture of things, too often we get blinkered into a narrow view of modern monotheistic cultures and forget all the rest that exists equally out there, both now and in the past for people.

@WE_R_DNA: Socialism does not equal communism, generally:
- socialism is the economic system, communism is both economic and the political system.
- Socialism asserts that distribution should be according to the amount of individuals' production efforts, while communism asserts that that goods and services should be distributed among the populace according to individuals' needs.
- Socialists believe that capitalism can be part of an ideal socialist state whereas Communits believe capitalism and private ownership should be done away with.
- Socialism generally aims to have as many people as possible influence how the economy works, communism seeks to limit that number to a smaller group.

I agree that things will become more socialistic with more countries joining the EU, a broader spread of control is likely with more people involved in it, rather than less though (as communism would be).

i used to believe in God, and life after death, but a few things changed my opinion. 1, i read the books The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells, and The Hitchhikers Guid To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams. the time machine made me consider what happens hear after everything is dead, and the hitchhiker's guide made me think about what i would do if all life on earth was dead, and i had the option to stat fresh somewhere else.
i also found another meaning of life that was more than God, or heaven could ever give me. and speacking of that, tha's the reason i got my hawk, was because i lost the thing i was living for, and decided to go ahead and go crazy and do whatever i felt like. ie. mohawk. sooo, i'm pretty much waiting to see if a can have another chance at getting my willpower back. i've been going strong for about a year but what the fuck.

Jessica: yes. you are absolutely right. It's only a belief. We all have the option to believe whatever we want. Yes, I find that highly religious people can be close-minded as well. It just really upset me the way she let off like that I guess. You can disagree with an opinion, sure. But you don't have to be disrespectful to it in the process.

I can understand where you're coming from shitfacedra, but you're a little misconstrued. First of all, since this group is called deep thoughts and not rantings for everyone, I'll ask if you could be a little more civilized in your opinion. Second, a lot of Christians today aren't doing right by God in the first place. Not everything is a sin and just because you're baptized, that doesn't give you a free ticket to do whatever you want. If someone kills someone else and then turns to God, that doesn't excuse them for what they did. And not everyone goes to Jesus when they die. Jesus is the savior, to answer your question. He is the son of God the Father. It's called the Holy Trinity. 3 in 1. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God didn't have sex with Mary. That's absurd. Through a process called parthenogenesis (pregnancy without fertilization), God allowed Jesus to become human. I don't know if it's a sin to question God. It is a sin to test God. As Martin Luther once said, thoughts come into our heads and out all the time; it's what we do with them that determines whether it's sinful or not. It isn't a sin to be gay. I think you're confused at who you're mad at. You aren't mad at God. You're mad at His followers. There are so many "convenient" Christians out there. And yes, God's main message was love. No matter what, we need to love. God doesn't force anyone to do anything. It's called free will. God gives us a choice to love and accept Him. You have to remember that people are imperfect. They sometimes preach what they believe even if it's wrong. Some of these religious nuts aren't preaching out of love for everyone else. They're doing it because they think it's right and they'll somehow be rewarded for their efforts in the afterlife (creepily like terrorism). The Pharisees (whom were the "back to the bible" people of Jesus's day), went regularly to worship services, knew the Bible forwards and backwards, and tithed faithfully. But their pride and hypocrisy were such great sins that they were denied the Kingdom of Heaven. And please, don't stereotype EVERY church. That's just irresponsible. As for, "recreating" the Bible, we aren't to add or take away anything from it. Stories with too many holes? This is a religion based on faith. Belief without proof. It's easy to believe in something that you can see is real and has proof. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean the proof isn't around somewhere. I don't think science goes against religion. Everything God has created is scientific. And that proof is everywhere. Just look in a hospital. And no, not the medical equipment. I'm talking about what we have discovered about our bodies. And no, immature clueless teenagers rant and rave on the internet. God is meant to be in everyone's life. When we are serving Him, we are happiest. We're made in His image after all. And it isn't going to be our instinct when we're born because that wouldn't be free will. God doesn't want a bunch of slaves worshiping Him because He says so, He wants us to love Him because we WANT to. Who's being separated into good or bad? We all have both qualities. And yes, I agree it is sad where we are heading. People using Christianity to feel better about their wrong-doings and then continuing to do them is wrong and is not what Christianity is about. God doesn't want to punish you. People are so concentrated on the law that they forget about the gospel. It's wrong to focus on just one. God loves us all and wants us love Him too. But that's our choice. God isn't the one you're mad at. It's a small, loud-mouthed, elitist, misguided percentage of His followers.

Hear me out, why is it that people continuously try to spead the word about "god"? and continue to put up signs and preach about how this and that is a sin and untill the priest pisses out holy water onto your head basicly everything you do is a sin and you'll go to "hell" and when you get baptized you are free and you can get away with generally enything you want? "well i just killed a man, but its alright now because i turned to god!" the love of your life just got killed "its ok cause their with jesus now" WHO THE FUCK IS JESUS?? "the sun of god, but yet at the same time is god" how the fuck is that possible? alright if god fucked Mary and jesus IS god then jesus must have fucked her somehow and had himself. and you see its a sin to have sex with your family. dumb shits, oh wait i forgot mary was a Virgin, now isnt that fucked up and a bunch of bullshit? and if its such a sin to question god then why did "god" himself create curiosity? why and if its such a sin to be gay then why did got create love? and if "god" and "jesus" are such nice people then why the hell would they make people spread the word and force people to believe them and treat them eny different with an opinion or question. and every church is the same and theyre all getting worse buy recreating "the bible". its just sick. their little story has tooooo many holes for me to agree and how can it be possible to be a christian scientist??? science goes way against religion. and im sick of immature cluless teenagers walking around town telling people about all "gods" done for us and how "jesus" died for our sins, when clearly sin already took place in that frame of time. i even hear people say he died for human life on earth when there were already people presant on that day. if god was ment to be in everyones life today then it would be our instinct when we arive. and if everyone that doesnt believe in god goes to "hell" then what about those children who are dying all over the world that havent got the chance to know about him? it just sickens me deeply. i will not have someone come up to me trying to befoul me with this loathing way of life where people are seperated into good and bad when it goes totally against itself in different directions. and i think its real fuckin sad where amarica is heading because of it. so what, is everyone at the lowest point in their lives going to turn to god and everythings gonna get better? are adam and eve gonna climb out of my ass and behest me to hell now that im saying this? The media is my arch-enemy, and has been for quite a while now. Why when I wake up and put on the news, or read a newspaper must I be bombarded with hatred? The media takes a profitable idea and ruins it to the point of pure desparation, just look at Indie, it started out like Punk and even that was exploited. Part of me hopes that the media would just prick up it's ears and pay attension to the real problems in this world.

I always wonder what the world would be like in the future, I'm presuming that I stick by my standards and never have a baby. The world will be a depressing place, everyone will be an undesireable, pollution will kill off our vital stocks and wars will pillage everywhere. I'm anti-war and anti-pollution, I try and do my bit. What sickens me is that the media is getting rich off the war in Iraq and such.

Everything is for profit these days, even the so-called 'independant' music companies, who get aired every 30 seconds now it seems. The image of "perfection" is profitable, I also wonder if I applied for an every-day normal job against a "perfect" woman. ie. tall, leggy, thin, busty, possibly blonde, I would not get that job. According to the media, all I'm good for is drugs, sex and dying young. I want to know where they get their generalisations and statistics from too.

Maybe they seek my 'meaning of life' : immortality, by either having children or by becoming famous, or ruining people's live for profit. Either one really.

People surely do care about the future and where we are headed and despite being slandered on TV or media outlets as being people who want to destroy the world, I can look at myself in the mirror (as can most radicals) and know exactly whats what and who is killing who....sadly...just as somebody mentioned the music/profit thing...that reflects the state of people currently....people are largely apathetic to the suffering and follow that path they know of self-preservation.....

someday it will be better or we will be extinct...either way...I can rest a bit easier knowing I did not sit by while people killed each other for profit and tried to work towards that brighter future...even if it never ever comes and I die broken, poor, alone etc....at least I had a life worth living
