I agree, Batman is definately the shit. I too have loved Batman for a long time, and I love what they've done with the new franchise. And you both have a very valid point, Spidey theoretically COULD crush Batman, but I don't think Batman would give him the oppurtunity, and this is all speculation since the chances of a cross over betweent he two, particularly with them fighting would probably never happen. And I do admire Batman for his intellect, he's probably the most bad ass hero with out powers, and I LOVE the whole striking fear into the hearts of villains, I love that darker side of him, although I still love the cheesy hilarious Adam West Batman, BIFF, POW, KER-PLATE! And you're right Gaby Bane did break Batman's spine, but I believe it was a replacement that Bruce hired to take up his mantle temporarily, some french guy unless I'm mistaken. And I agree Adam, LOVE Ghostrider, but I prefer Blaze, and I like that they kept Blaze as a hero even after he was no longer fused with the Ghost Rider spirit, I just wish I had some of the comics, I've read a few, and Midnight Sons is one of my FAVORITE comics I've ever read, right up there with Watchmen I also totally dig Morbius, I guess I'm more into the dark, anti-heroes or the crazy goofballs with sinces of humor, which is why I want to get into Dead Pool.
haha yea batman can beat anyone if he gets time to prepare. but say he pisses someone off they could snap his neck. (didn't bane at one point break batmans spine?) i would hate for that to happen but it's the truth. and even if he is super smart and at the pinnacle of human superness it's still not really a power. but anyways,
just cuz of his costume? lol. yea when people do that it gets annoying. if they don't read comics they can still like certain people over others it's just when they try too argue why someone is better that it gets really annoying.
which brings me to, i can't really give an opinion on which ghost rider is better, i've never read any ghost rider. i would like too, but for some reason it's never happened.
See, I love both Batman and Spider-man (and Ghost Rider IS my fave, well Johnny BLaze, not so much Danny Ketch.) But the thing about Batman is that he is the smartest man in the DCU. So that can be considered a superpower itself. Also The fact that he has built himself into the pinnacle of human achievement is amazing. Theoretically though, Batman can beat anyone if he has time to prepare. In Dark Knight Returns, Batman almost kills Superman, (he had Green Arrow shoot him with a Kryptonite arrow, and wore a battle armor that was plugged into the Gotham City powergrid.)
But my biggest problem is when you have people who don't read comics tell you who is better than who. I have a buddy who hates Superman, but knows nothing about him. And likes Batman because of his costume. Very frustrating.
i love spider-man, he's one of my favorite heros. i have a bit of a problem with peter Parker, but i'm all for spidey. and it's true he could crush Batman's skull rather easily, in fact a lot of people could take him out with little problem, both good guys and bad, but it's the fact that no one does and that those who have tried haven't been successful, that makes me love batman. of all the heros he's one of the most intimidating, despite the fact that he doesn't have a single power. it's that he's just human, just as vulnerable as the rest of us, and he's still out there, beating some of the craziest villains and striking fear into the hearts of many. and there are a lot of other heros who don't have powers and a lot of heros who scare the bejesus out of people, but it's not the same as with batman. i dunno, i've loved batman since i was like five. and i do have respect for superman, i just have a lot more disdain. well that's a bit harsh but i really just don't like the guy. like Dead End Demon said he's too much of a boyscout for me. i don't like boyscout heros that much. i thinks it's because they're vigilantes, they're taking things into their own hands but they're still so by the rules, so adamant about doing things right, when what they are, and what they're doing is not by the rules. i dunno. i've been going on for a while now, i'm just gonna stop.

You raise a very good argument for Superman, and I admire that, hell I have to defend my love for Spidey all the time, my friends at school are big on D.C. (which I'm not really one to pick sides, nothing AGAINST DC, I've just found more of my favorites in Marvel, and Stan Lee is the funniest fuckin old dude ever, but I digress) They always talk shit about how gay Spider-Man is and how Batman could whoop his ass, and I'm like GUYS I think Batman is the SHIT but Spider-Man has SUPER STRENGTH he could crush his head like a walnut in an instant, period. So I know the feeling. Superman's okay all and all, and it's true he's alot deeper when you really get into his character, so I shouldn't be so harsh on the guy, especially considering he was one of the first real super heroes and without him we wouldn't have most of the comics we all know and love today. But I gotta side with Gaby, I got respect for Superman, but not a fan, he's a bit of a boyscout in my book, but right after Spider-Man my favorite is Ghost Rider so I feel ya man...I also feel like I've been talking too much...time to shut up for a while...
Oh and Superman can still be taken out. I mean Lex Luthor is a "normal" human and he almost kills Superman on a weekly basis. With Kryptonite, magic and not being in the sun, he has plenty of weaknesses.
The fact that his character is so complex is why I love Superman. Also he is the paragon of how all superheroes should act. Don't get me wrong though, Batman is the shining example of human potential. And I'm not saying I like one more than the other, but I just had to defend the big "S". Oh and I do like the darker characters myself, Ghost Rider and Hawkman are my faves, with Pitt close behind.
i know stuffs happened to him and his life isn't exactly easy. but even if emotionally and mentally hes vulnerable, he's pretty darn indestructible. and i don't like that. plus i personally like the heros that r just a tad less goody goody.
