bob, i totally agree with you i dont drink drive/ride or ride without full gear i think its too much of a chance to take in the age of retard drivers.... stupid people who drive at ridiculus speeds wrecklessly are the cause of most road deaths... makes me sick that people dont care about how safe they are on the road.... i take pride in being a safe aware driver and rider i think other people shud too...

A bunch of my friends have helmet mohawks. I made it a rule on my team that you can't ride with one unless you have one under the helmet.

I ride too much. The hawk stays up well, except when going down the road. But the second i get off the scoot the hawk is fine

I always ride w/ full leathers and a full helmet. I had them custom designed for the bike. I also took several riding courses when I got into bikes. I have hit the pavement once, but with the body armor, I had no injuries other than self-esteem. I also wear and advocate wearing shoulder belts when driving a car or truck.
Please, if anyone wants to start riding a bike, take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course before you ride. Wear protective gear (I think leathers and boots on a biker look cool, too). Don't drink and ride (or drive - I don't need drunk drivers aiming at me). Obey the rules of the road.
Re the helmet, you can always style your 'hawk after the ride, but it's tough to restyle your brain.
Just some advice from someone who enjoys the thrill of riding a bike (and plans on continuing to do so).

I don't really ride much, since I'm not sure how big of a bike it would take for me to ride. My brother is big into them though. One day he says he is going to start his own bike shop and then custom build me a huge one. So I guess I'll just pre-join until that day.
