where do you get patches?

Just wondering where everyone gets their patches. Like the ones that are a logo or that say something. do you buy them, or cut them out of other clothes?

I collect mine by going to local shows. There's also 2 punk shops here in town (Austin TX) that have a good supply of them as well. You can also go to sites like angryyoungandpoor.com and find them there. Or make your own.

ones with just words or a simple design are really easy to make, try making your own!

You just use your choice of material, and then what kind of paint? (I mean to make it more of a 'professional' looking patch? Kinda, haha. XD)

i usually use canvas for material, its thick and strong and doesnt fray too bad. for paint i use fabric paint, i make my stencils from paper traced off my laptop and then cut it with an exacto knife. tape or pin the paper to the fabric, paint it, let dry most of the way then peel the paper off. sometimes the paper sticks with the paint because it gets soggy but i usually kinda like the effect. if you dont want that to happen use thicker paper.
