What is the best kind of hair dye?

im looking to dye my mohawk blue and green but i want something that will last a long time and has a blue and a green that go well together any ideas on the best brand?

I had my bangs Turquoise and Apple Green from Directions a long time. It was good in my brown hair and lasted longer than some of the stuff i use now in blond hair..

It's also like a gel and not running down your head while you wait ;)

Punky colors turquoise and spring green! Long lasting, smells greats, makes your hair feel great, and even looks good after it fades ^.^

Mmmmmm smells like grapes. This is the only brand I know of that works well from my experience as well.

Basically, anything but Manic Panic and Splat. Especially Splat!

Special Effects, Directions, Punky Colour, and Stargazer are the best, but different dyes take better to some hair than others.

Yeah, Splat is horrible and not only dyes (temporarily) your hair, but everything else for fucking weeks after, no matter how well you rinse it out. Even when it's dry, it rubs off on stuff. I wanted my hair dyed but not to be a walking colored marker as well.

I've only used

Manic panic

splat

color feind

I used beyond the zone on my friends hair and it sucked.

I heard nothing but good things from punky colors and special effects

Ususally when i use hair dye i keep it in my hair forever (you can do this especially with manic panic because it is a vegetable based dye) i usually leave it in for an hour or two at the least.

if you want it SUPER PERMANENT let it sit in your hair for an hour or two and then dry it with a hair dryer... the shit will not come out of your hair... did that technique with splat and color fiend. the purple splat faded to a neon pink and wouldn't come out even after i bleached it. the blue color fiend stayed in my hair so long that i had to get it professionally removed so my hair didnt melt off of my scalp.

The heat opens the pores in your head, it'd last even longer if you wash your hair in cold water when your done (the cold closes the pores). I know "pores" isnt the correct term, but you all know what I mean!

'Hawk tip: blow-drying the hairspray when your putting the hawk opens the pores, if your hair dryer has a "cool-air" setting for when your done blowing the section it'll stand up stiffer and longer!

for me the only colour that last for 2-3 months is Special effects so far.

Think the best thing if you are lazy like me to colour is to take as dark ones as possible even if you want a lighter shade, because then you can have it dark for some weeks medium some weeks and then light some weeks.

gonna try another kind now, fudge paintbox but don´t know yet how long it will last.

usually I torture my hair to white blond before so the hair get all dry and ugly and after colouring using some kind of hair repair spray for coloured hair no fanzy stuff, just to seal the colour and make the hair shiny again.

the stargazer green only lasted for 2-3 weeks in my hair :(
