Mohawks Rock

WHAT DID YOUR PARENTS SAY THE FIRST TIME U GOT A MOHAWK?

Well I think I am ready to get a mohawk, but I am finding it hard to get them on board with my decision. I just like the looks of mohawk! I want to know the first time you asked your parents and what was their reaction??

I nearly got disowned. My dad always said he'd kill me if I gone one. But they can suck it. They ask me every couple months when I'm gonna let it grow out and I'm pretty much like who cares? I let the middle grow out (bleach destroyed it so I had to start almost from scratch) but then I got sick of it being in my eyes so I cut it back a little shorter. I've had it for almost 4 years now, I don't forsee myself getting rid of it unless I get lupis or cancer brain surgery or something tragic that forces my hair to fall out/be shaven.
my dad said it was a phase and i'd get over it...
but my mom, on the other hand, cried at first ( she just really loved my curls ) then shaved my head for me for the first time.
almost 2 years later and my mom still shaves my head when mitch isnt around to
and i think my dads just chosen to ignore it completly now
my mom will propably never get over the fact that her daughter has a mohawk, not long blonde hair like she has hoped XD she hates it and continues to mock me. Dad doesn´t care. So the reaction ain´t that good :D
I used to have shaggy hair, but had it short last summer, guess my mom likrd it like that, grew this winter to kinda shaggy (5inches), she started bugging me to get it cut before school next week, so I gently brought up just cutting my own hair into a hawk, She agreed and offered to help. I'm stoked, hopefully tomorrow it will happen. My Dad is a little messed up (good reason) and probly won't even notice lol.
My dad said, cool!!! My mom said, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! YOU ARE GROUNDED!!!
My mom encouraged me to do it while my dad didn't really have an opinion. However, it hasn't really become apparent to me, until recently, how many of my friends are silently waiting for me to grow it out. Its a bit annoying actually to hear that alot but I'm in no way tired of mine.
My dad thought it was awesome, and went on about a bunch of ideas of what to color it. My mom was just glad that she could see my eyes (since I had way long hair before), but then started saying it made me look mean.
well, mine, for some reason, just some how transformed itself into a mohawk.
because the first time i cut my hair, it was just a very short boyish form of a bob.
later on after getting influence from a girl named indigo vanity (unchained/ go hard),
i begged my mom into letting me cut one side off,
then when she saw it, she liked it, so did i, so we cut off the other side at the same time,
but it was just two triangles, but i still had all of my back on,
but then i just decided to cut it into a full mohawk, so i begged my mom again and she did it.
if you keep begging them and tell them exactly how wide it'll be, how it will be done, how short you want it on the sides, and exactly how you'll wear it, and that you'll take care of it, they should still have some doubt,
but it should push them closer to a yes.
motivation is your best friend for this decision. lol
my mom didn't mind she was sittin next to me when they shaved my sides XD.
have it for i think 6 years now? LOL
my dad was kinda shocked at first but now he n my step mom always ask why my hawk isn't up if i have it down.
grandma almost had a heart attack when she first saw it now gave up all hope of me bein a "normal" girl again.^^hahaha
My mom was angrier when I dyed my hair a more than a year before I got the hawk itself. She didn't speak to me for three days, literally, and for several weeks after that it was only out of sheer necessity that she would xD She was angry because she loved my blonde hair so much.

But then I went and shaved off half my head (got the hawk) and all she asked was "what does your work think?" my response: "they don't care as long as it's not up." and that was the end of that. My dad just laughed and asked why. I told him I've wanted one forever and he was like alright. I think my parents are finally beginning to accept that I'm not a normal human being.
My mum said it was nice, my dad said his brother had one in the 70's and he always liked it.

Smart parents.

Never cared about piercings and tattoos either, they just said they were glad I wasn't just trying to fit in... 10 years on and every little shit I see has tattoos and piercings, BACKFIRE!
my dad likes the hawk now but still hates the tat lol
my mom never gets used to my hawk hahahha.
she always says when it's up you're the one who's walkin round lookin like shit XD
