Mohawks Rock

WHAT DID YOUR PARENTS SAY THE FIRST TIME U GOT A MOHAWK?

Well I think I am ready to get a mohawk, but I am finding it hard to get them on board with my decision. I just like the looks of mohawk! I want to know the first time you asked your parents and what was their reaction??

Well, my mom hasn't seen the hawk yet (we live in different states). But she has seen pics, and she says it looks cute. But she's also quite used to this kind of behaviour from me as she used to shave my head and leave my bangs. And I also used to dye my hair all sorts of colours. So ya. :) Now only if my workplace had the same attitude.
I sent my parents a pic in a text message with the caption "my new haircut" First they laughed because they didn't realize it was me. Then the conversation went something like, "What? Why? You'll never get a job."
When i told my mother im sick of my hippie hair she said thank god, and she said this shocking thing "do you want me to cut you'r hair how mine use to be back in 84" i said sure (not knowing what i was getting into) she gave me a mohawk with 2 blocks on the left and right, dyed it blue/yellow and i was shocked more then she was v.v sadly iv had it for 2years and the only thing i did wrong was shave with a broken hand... so now its off till 2 months when my hair is 3 inches or so..
when i cut it into a hawk and went to my dads he was silent and just stared at me.
my mom looked at me and called me a fucking idiot lol
"You're not going out like that, are you?!" XD
I told my dad straight away and he didn't care. My mother found out after 8 months and I lived with her at the time. At first she wouldn't say a word to me. When she talked to me again she said I wouldn't be able to get a job and that I looked like a freak and she just hated it. I let it grow out a little and now she doesn't mind it when it's down. She likes having a daughter that she can show off and not one that looks like a freak.
I wore a hat and lived in the dorms at school. She never asked why I wore a hat all the time in the summer.
well ill find out tomorow but my dads probably gonna be pissed lol
Haha. I had my ex do mine at his house (I did his the night before), and when I came home, my mom looked at me with a screwed up expression on her face, and said ".....Ew. What did you do to your head?" Haha. I just beamed and walked past her. =P

And seriously, don't take into consideration how your parents will react. Unless they're the really rare, kick ass type of parents who rock mohawks themselves, you're gonna end up having them dislike your hair and look at you funny every time you spike it. If you really want a mohawk, just go for it!!!
Told her I was getting rid of the metal-day hairstyle *down to my shoulders* and she went "Anything but a mohawk, just until after christmas?" So I got a wild sid vicious one which a barber done for me, it looked too clean so I snipped a few bits off...Christmas came, me being humble to my word. My mum's a fake snob, so to get even I simply took some of the small christmas money I had and went to the barber, got it done. She past my work window XD Needless to say I got home before her, packed a few bags and lived at my mate's for 2 nights whilst avoiding texts saying "Me and your gran are going fucking mental." I just text back "I'm getting fucking mentally pished, bugger off." and came home the next day, problem solved.

Seriously, parent's don't realise how stupid they dressed when they were young yet decide to prey upon their own? Christ, my mum was a Bay City Roller's fan, imagine the state of her.
my mom didn't want me to cut my "beautiful long hair" that went all the way to my back. plus she's a homophobe, and short hair on girl=lesbian. so it kinda freaked her out. so she took me to the lady who does her hair to talk me outta it, turns out her hairdresser was a punk in the 80's, sung in a punk band, and did all her friend's hair then she decided to go to beauty school. she was happy to do my hair. :) but my mom wasn't. for some reason she likes it now......
My parents have said consistantly since i got it that i'm "just trying to be rebellious." *shrugs*
