Well, I'd say go for it because dread hawks are freakin badass! I've always wanted to do it when my hawk got longer, or so long I cant put up it by myself but I can never seem to get to that point. The longest it ever got was about 7 inches before I got pissed off at it and either shaved it off or trimmed it down shorter.
Anyway, I think it's a great idea but from what I've heard dreads aren't really that low maintenance if low maintenance is what you're looking for. It takes a while for them to lock up and then keeping the loose hairs dreaded back in to keep them looking good. It might be easier because of the bleached hair but the new hair might take a while to train as it grows.
You can always try it and if it's to much to deal with or you dont like it, you can always comb them out. Give it a shot and keep us updated on the process and pictures.
Yeah that would be a badass color combo.
I didn't mean the "out of salon" look either. I like the more natural look too, just sometimes people let them go so much they look just horrible in my opinion. Like pieces of shit matted into dog fur or something, Haha.
Even with the natural look I think you still need to keep up with them somewhat or once in a while. I still say go for it and like I said, if you don't like them, you can always brush them out with a lot of conditioner or KnottyBoy's Dread Remover kit if needed.
Good luck!
Yeah, not a big fan of knottyboy. I know what you mean. I have seen what people have called beaver tails because the dreads conglomerated into one fatty dread. I don't really like the "perfect" dread look either. It just looks so weird to me. All the dreads are uniformed and shit blurgh. Seriously though I think my hair is telling me to dread it because every day my hair is pretty much in the starting phases of dreading and I brush it out( hurts like a bitch) .
