Mohawks Rock

Hey,
I just wanted to ask if there are punks and mohawk wearers around, who manage to be successful in their careers and in the business world, while staying true to themselves and wearing their hawk.
For me, being a punk and  successful business man is not contradiction

I don't think you'll get too many replies, just because a lot of people here seem to be pretty young. I am--I'm still working my way through school, but I have hopes for working in academia. On the side I'm a research assistant and am a published author.. so I'd like to think I'm on my way. :o) You're right; I don't think it's a contradiction, and I wish more people thought so.

I said this somewhere else, but I think things are changing, albeit slowly. I work at a hospital and every now and then I'll see doctors with tattoo sleeves, residents with large plugs, etc. One girl at my work got away with a red and black mohawk until she got bored with it (even though I have a red/black mohawk, I wear a wig.. never tried pushing that envelope, but honestly, I don't really care to. Wigs are kinda fun too). Anyway, what do you do, or what do you plan on going into?
yeah i think things are definitely changing. there was an article in our local newspaper a few months back about a real estate agent who had sleeves and he said either people are neutral to it or really like it. I guess its changing faster for tats than hair. Maybe once our generation gets older and is in charge of things it will be different. I'm still in school btw, so no career yet.
Well..... I own 2 businesses... A tattoo shop and a Jam Company.

I live in a small town in Nebraska, and I havent have any problems, I've got 2 full sleeves, chest piece, back, legs ect.... about 75% covered, and a Mowhawk and DO NOT have any isssues.

A generous smile and positive attitude can break down many bariers, or woes. I sell at the Farmers Market every saturday and the farmers around town love me.... I'm the tattooed mohawked Jam Lady... Life is what ya make of it, I think if you go into things negativly that you might not have the best outcome. Our newspaper has written serveral articles about me and my art, my tattoo shop, and my Jam company....

Maybe I'm a little Happy go lucky, But i've found if ya dont take life too seriously that you have more fun....
I can only say this for myself...I believe, because I am in the Mid-West, I must first and foremost always respect my elders. When I am conducting business, and wish to be taken at my word and face value, I will not and can not afford to allow others misconceptions about sub-cultures getting in the way of me being a part of their world.

I must do what ever it takes to blend in at face value, so I may bring in my personal values to shed light on alternative cultures. When business is done, and relationships have been formed, this is when I me and my tattoos come out to play!
